Oh yeah i didnt mean you were. Theres a ridiculously big difference between winning every game and being able to win every game you play. We will join a list of about 9 sides that can win any week if they play well this year. None of them will win all of them (well if the Giants are as good as their hype they might come close).

All I was saying is going in last year we could accept a lost more than likely garanteed some weeks. This year every game will be like last years Saints/Port games. We can win, and its gonna be frusrating when we dont. Last year it was easy to brush ourselves off after the loses against Sydney, Adelaide, Hawthorn etc. I dont think we will find that so easy this year.

    Edit:
Just take the last JLT loss as an example. We lost to a full strength top 6 side in perth by 25 points and there were still people claiming we were pathetic. Last year we lost by 22 at our home ground against Adelaide and we were saying they played pretty well. Such is the difference in expectations this year.

As long as we play to our strengths and clean up our disposal we are a chance to beat anyone and yes expectations are higher and will remain so win or lose, i will only really be upset when we play poorly and beat ourselves.

We played a full strength WC and really it was only our disposal that cost us,tighten that up and we in with a real show.

  2. Really thought we would take Parish but very happy we took Clarry just adds to the hard midfield we have built , great hands and footy nous but best of all as tough as nails, loved the way he responded to the Cyril hit.

Very happy with Taylor, has found footy players and i hope he is around for a long time to come.

This is a joke, firstly a player of Jack's experience not doing what is required and secondly the club on the way we have played this out through the media.  Had hopes for the season but the last 3 days has shown we are still that unprofessional club that we have been for the last 10 years.  We will finish bottom 6 in 2017, jack Watts will be traded at years end with Jesse Hogan gone end of 2018 season.

Over it, don't really care Jack isn't playing, the fact it has got to this is an absolute let down.

    you gotta be on drugs

    Never gets old.

Love seeing Dunstall's face caved in on Earl the Pearl's knee too.

    Happy memories .

Wrecker finished off Nathan Brown with a very brave smother also.

    Chapeau.

Lol a bit over the top

The point is that the AFL can't make as much money unless they change it.

The integrity if the competition should be rule 1 if the AFL don't have that as best they can with 18 teams and 23 rounds they will end up losing money anyway,i don't think people will like teams winning less games but finishing higher on the ladder than other teams .

The one reason to hope Collingwood make the finals - the possibilitiy of beating them four times in a season.

The women's game has opened up a fun new kind of pre-season optimism!

Love this , would be a beautiful thing .

I am enjoying it at the moment but was not happy at half time, one thing i would like would be if our numbers were blue i don't like white numbers in a red back ( were not Sydney) same with the men, might just be me but just don't like it

  8. As long as the ladder works as it does now in the 17-5 system then im ok with it ( i think ) .

You don't want a team in middle 6 not being able to finish top 4 if they are good enough or a team not able to drop out of the top group (any group) if they finish on less wins than teams in the other group after the final 5 rounds

I love Viney but his kicking action is way too far gone. I'm confident in saying that he will never be a consistently damaging kick, especially over 40m. He could well improve his short kicking but his disposal by foot is easily the biggest weakness in his game. Doesn't mean he isn't a gun though.

Just like his Dad :) if he is half as good i would be happy but i think he will be better. :)

  10. AFL best 22

B: Neville Jetta, Tom McDonald, Michael Hibberd
HB: Jayden Hunt, Oscar McDonald, Christian Salem
C: Dom Tyson, Nathan Jones, Bernie Vince
HF: Dean Kent, Sam Weideman, Christian Petracca
F: Jeff Garlett, Jesse Hogan, Jack Watts
R: Max Gawn, Jordan Lewis, Jack Viney
INT: Jake Melksham, Angus Brayshaw, Clayton Oliver, Cam Pedersen
EMERG: Tomas Bugg, James Harmes, Sam Frost

The additions of Lewis, Hibberd and Melksham, who sat out 2016 because of a doping suspension, further enhances Melbourne's finals hopes. The trio brings experience and leadership, two qualities that are vital for a young team preparing to take the next step into September. The Demons' line-up is full of talent, although fans will have to be patient as the forward line builds cohesion around the pairing of Jesse Hogan and Sam Weideman. With the squad it has in hand, Melbourne will push for finals next season.

Not unhappy with either but as people have said they would make changes and you cant argue with that, shows the depth we have and the team will look different by the end of the season .

Personally want Billy in there and would love Trengove to make it back.

  11. Well there you go never knew he was called that, just goes to show supporters all have different nicknames for players.

I saw Dean but thought that was maybe who you were talking about , oh well my bad .

I have never really called players by their nicknames,to me that's really just for mates but always good to know :)
