  1. On TV, looked like Essendon, go back to the brighter blue. At the game, it was fine. A Geelong mate said we looked good, its not a beauty contest we want to win. Reminds me of the advertising competition between BMW and Audi in 2006. Then Subaru chimed in with engine of the year. And Bentley outdoes them all.

Enlightened Demonlanders, anyone know who played all 22 games? Harmes Captain Jones ANB Nev 'The Great Man" Jetta Maxy Clarry

He would bring the house down with his good attitude to life and footy. Bruce should ask him if he knows any AC/DC songs. He'd then make PM!
  4. Shows it a popularity contest. Gus is fantastic and not many are as solid as he is in the middle. Great to watch him play. Clarry shouldve been in the AA last year as well.

ANB is my favorite player and has been for over a year. He's a footballer, not an athlete that tries to play. He knows where the ball is going and gets there. His work ethic is great as well. Runs his heart out. A midfielder with a goal average of over 1 per game is pretty good.
  6. Oldest footy club in the world. One of my kittens so called friends said we won the beauty contest with the jumper. Can't wait to give it back in two weeks.

I hope you are wrong. Gus had a stint in the magoos, does he need one as well? There is also the ones we dont see, where he does the linking small handballs in close and doesn't show well on TV or live, however he is there. He gets the ball out and he is really strong to stand up in tackles. When his kicks pay off, its huge, a goal every time.
  8. 6. Gawn - he is now manipulating where the ball is going and Clarry is now 3m from the circle to give him space as the ball bounces. Actively pushing opponents into the circle as Gawny knocks it out. 5. Oliver - get ball, that is what he does. 4. Brayshaw - under-rated as a mid, he's briliant in the clutches 3. ANB - he was there for major linking plays, runs hard and kicks goal. Was it me or did I see his leadership in one of the forward line huddles after a goal? 2. Petracca - Pulling his head in, has the ability and the ideas, just doesn't always work. Breaks lines and great linking player. 1. TMac - does what a forward needs to do, kick goals, bring the ball down if he can't mark and support others. Special Mention to Goodwin, for not persisting with the 8-6-4. Then we lose it once we get it in the forward line. need to be more flexible in the game plan. Trust the players.
  9. Frosty, love his speed and goes towards goal as a first option. Not many big forwards will catch him.
  10. I concur, its been a long few years and these guys are now turning up. Great to see the hard work and positive attitude, AVB never doubted he'd be back!
  11. Long tinme reader and proud Demonlander tshirt owner, get on board................. Loved the game today, with my 6yo next to me. He sat through the whole game for the first time! OMac, great game, growing in confidence and kicking is better. Gawn, he is one for the ages. Trac, pull his head in, then he snaps the goal. He did it a couple of times. AVB, solid, the way he bumped Harmes to change trajectory then kick Inside 50 was brilliant. Its like he playing dodgem cars. ANB, my favourite, is hard working and gets around it. Can someone tell how many goals he's kicked this year. My condolences to J. Hogan as the 3 goals to TMac, and he took the goal kicking trophy.
  12. I heard they were wearing Jack Viney masks........................................
  13. Thank D-Land i love my tshirt

I've been to training twice this week and the feeling was amazing between the guys. There will only be a handful of changes this year. The list is stable and young. They are understanding the workload required and are starting to see the results. STAYING ANB - Keep, we haven't seen his best. He will be something special and has a little X factor, especially when he gets some size. Trengove - A high quality midfielder who needs more fitness, he has got quicker over the year. His best will be in the next 3 years. he has the maturity and the footy nous. So much time on the sidelines makes you hungry. He is the heart of the club. Tell the other clubs to bugger off. Max King - Needs more time. Spencer - His time will come, just like it did for Max and Jeff White. Dunn - Great experience and is fit. Good depth player. Garlett - needs to train in the off season. Classic symptoms of not enough fitness, as the season goes on, he fades. He is also playing on the wing more, I'm sure it is more running and that is why he isn't scoring as many goals, he is doing the team thing. Pedersen - Keep, has a heart as big as Pharlap, courageous, occasional brain fade, necessary back up for what we saw on the weekend. Good follow up and two way running. Grimes - former captain, how we treat our loyal players is noticed by those who aren't. Keep him, he is only a wing away from games. Excellent depth player and will be good for us. How we treat him will be seen by marquee players who are looking to change teams. Garland - Has been passed by O Mac, White and Wagner. Good depth player. Matt Jones - Generic (good thing) and does what is asked of him. He has worked on his fitness and runs out games well. He is getting better as he gets older. No chance of trading him. He gets on really well with his team mates as well. He also has a business with Gawn and Max King, called Max Jones and Co. Buy a tshirt. JKH - Four goals at Casey on the weekend. Has worked on his fitness after injury. Hasn't lit the world up yet, however it will come. Wagner - Will be on the list White - Will be on the list LEAVING Terlich - I like the bloke. He has worked really hard this year on his game and body this year, is a great leader for Casey. Contract him to Casey to train the young Demons. Dawes - See what we can get for him. He's not going to be here next year. Lumumba - Retire, thank him for his service. Pay out his contract. Newton - good size and in the mould of the modern midfielder, just doesn't do it and coughs it up when he has possession. See what we can get for him. Michie - great VFL player like James (biggest biceps in the VFL) Magner. Needs to get it together.
  15. He wouldn't know who the coach of Freo is as Ross Lyon has been in discussion with the Suns, he think can take them to a losing Grand Final as long as Zac Dawson is allowed to follow. He is lovable young man and will mature over the coming two years as we win more games. There is nothing like being in the centre of footy, ask Bernie (Gabe's Favorite) Vince why he moved here and the difference to a satellite town. Jesse, we love you and you expect 6 goals a game and are disappointed when it doesn't happen, it will happen soon, just be patient.
  16. I heard Viney made Chuck Norris cry
  17. Let's get him, at the end of the year
  18. Wines had the mature body, Toumpas didn't. A big difference to the immediate playing team. If you don't have the size, it doesn't matter how much talent you have. You'll just get pushed off the ball. Years of watching Cale Morton has shown this.
  19. It is good to read that "the saviour" tag from one or two draftees has been reduced from the last five years. With quality recruiting and a handful or genuine talented youngsters, we are not relying on Watts or Scully and Trengove to get us up the ladder. It takes a decent rotation of 12 midfielders, coming from half forward and half back and the bench to be competitive. Looking at the players today and the pressure is shared, no longer on Watts' head and shared between a few. Salem, Viney, VB, Gus, Petracca, Oli, Bugg, that is half our rotation delivered in less than 3 years. Watts, Jones, The awesome Bernie Vince, Kent, Tyson, they have the older heads and will lead these guys. Add the mid age recruits and it makes it more plausible and hopeful. It was hot out there today and breaking a sweat was par for the course, even for those not running!
