Dawes listed as an emergency... I wonder if there will be a late change as I can't see us risking Watts in the ruck again...
-
Petracca to win rising star this year and then we will three peat it with weed winning it next year
-
I've always liked Newton too something about him and his uncanny knack to bob up with a goal or two. I think he has done enough to play next week against his old side.
-
Too be honest I didn't see him get to or win any contests... He just looked deflated and defeated..
-
He was playing on one foot when he last played... Why the negativity? Imagine if he came back and played as well as he did in his first season.

I agree with you there, but as has been said most of scores are generated by winning the clearances, having Maxy up and about this year has helped us immensely in winning the clearances (I believe we are number 1 in the league for center clearances) but no ruck man can withstand playing on the ball 100% of the time. So I can see the benefit of having Spence in the team giving Gawn a Chop out for 25-30% of game time in the center and he will crush most teams make shift ruckmen who in reality is just their 2nd forward in most teams cases giving us first access (in most games) most of the time, generating more i50's. While Gawn or Spence are in the goal square taking the biggest full back trying to clunk a mark or two and if the ball is sat on either of our rucks heads there will be a minimal amount of times they are out marked so we have the likes of Kent, Kennedy and Garlett at their feet. But again I agree with you RE versatility because if the plan fails there aren't too many other options for Spence around the ground like we do if Ped or Frosty were playing his role.

Spencer rucking against most teams second string ruck men would do that.
-
I'd be annoyed if they all come back next year 'on a mission' having gained a top 3 draft pick and leap frog us into finals.. Hurley leaving for nothing seems like a great way to end their punishment... Especially if he comes to us
-
I really think he needs to spend more mid/HF time. Salem and Watts imo are our best kicks so we need them executing the hardest kicks for us, delivering the ball inside 50.
-
They managed to get a decent pick for milkshakes from us and managed to make the saints fold regarding carslile. I have full faith in the footy club now but I do worry how much we would have to give up.... Hopefully Hurley hates Essendon now after everything, tears up his contract and gives them the 2 finger salute walking out the door.
-
Hypothetically if he wants to come to us, and doesn't/cannot void his contract what would you entertain in the form of a trade?
-
Out: Garland (never to be seen again), Jetta, Mitchie In: Dunn, ANB, Lumumba I don't know what it is about Garland.... Every time you see him he just looks beaten, maybe the last of the Neeld years that just cant let go of the past.

Jetta gone for a week, Vince free to play.
GCDee replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm shocked I really thought Vince would be gone for 1-2 and Jetta would get off... -
Do the Bulldogs have their own set of rules holy hell... This umpiring is bad
-
How many times are the dogs going to get away with throws!!!!!!! Set up two goals now
-
Feeling really good about today's game!! I think the battle of the midfield will be very even and the game will be won and lost in the efficiency of balls inside 50 for both teams. We really need to make the most of our entries and can't afford to just bomb the ball in because we are going to have a height advantage... I'd like to see Salem play a mid/HF role and just lace the ball out to our talls all day! Dees to shock the footy public and win by 45 Go Dee's!!!!!

How much football have Demonland members played?
GCDee replied to Nasher's topic in Melbourne Demons
Played juniors at south Mornington on the Mornington peninsula from the age of 9 until I was 16 during my time there I played in inter league comps (my biggest claim to fame was winning inter league best and fastest over lachie Whitfield in under 15s ) I also played a few years with the stringrays but got cut just before TAC cup was due to start. I then played 2 years with mt Eliza in the under 18s and then seniors before injuring my back and never making it back out on the park -
I'd absolutely love for Jenkins to be lining up next to Hogan next year, but I wouldn't be upset if Freo threw a massive contract at both Jenkins and McCarthy. Surely Freo couldn't fit all three in their salary cap and trade for all three.

Hey GNF, Don't listen to all the haters, you cleary have some connections within the club because there is no way you can guess what you have shared with us all. When I first started reading demonland (around the season when we landed Mitch Clark) It was because of you I kept coming back because I just wanted to get more info. I for one really appreciate what you share and can't wait for your next scoop! Cheers!!

Presita, Jenkins & then Mitch or Nathan Brown as a free agent until Omac bulks up. 2017 Team FB Jetta Brown Prince HB Salem TMac Trenners C Vince Jones Brayshaw HF Watts Hogan BenKen FF Garlett Jenkins Kent R Gawn Viney Prestia B Trac Tyson Oliver Bugg And just imagine the depth lining up at casey keeping the 22 performing, the likes of Harmes, Ped, Vanders, ANB, stretch, weid, Hunt just to name a few. The main speed bump is how we Aquire Jenkins, personally I think our 2017 first rounder is already off the table with the Prestia deal, Brown would cost nothing but cap space and Jenkins is currently hot property so I don't really know what we can use to trade for him. Maybe getting ahead of my self here by its hard not to be excited by what's just around the corner and I have full faith the club will make all the right calls!!
-
What a great game it was!! My observations... 1. Garry Ablett is cooked, or playing severely injured. 2. MFC have a large GC supporter base or a lot of fans made the trip up because we deffiantly had more fans there tonight. 3. Prestia will be a fantastic addition for us next year, all class.

With a young family and living on the Gold Coast this will be the only game I'll be getting along too this year so I'm bloody excited (the only exception is if we make the GF and my partner knows I'll be on the first plane to Melbourne leaving her with the baby) I think Hogan and or watts will tear GC a new one. They just simply will not be able to cover our tall forwards. Expecting 12 goals between these two.. My prediction Dee's by 40

Okay now that I've had a good 15 hours to calm down after the loss I wanted to add my 2 cents.... I'm sorry but I don't buy the this is the worst lost in our history crap, yes it is an embarrassment and yes we will be laughed at, but I'm sorry the 186 point loss to Geelong is far, far worse than this. I just think for the first time in years we had that much more talented players on our side compared to the opposition and "we did a GWS" and expected our talent to win the game rather than stick to team structures and work together. This game could be a blessing in disguise showing our players showing anyone can beat you if you don't show up and do EXACTLY what's required. Let's hope the lesson has been learnt and we can carry on our season in a upward trajectory. Next week will be a big test and I look forward to the dees sticking it up to the Roos!! Go dees
