If you play two rucks then having two 195+ forwards unbalances the side.

Works ok for Geelong. Blicavs & Ratugolea as the two rucks with Cameron and Hawkins as the two tall forwards.

I’m a firm believer that BB is in our finals team.

    Oliver: Costly first quarter
    Petracca: Bloody hollywood handballs
    May: Got absolutely destroyed.
    Pickett: Slow 'the F' down.
    Mcdonald: 2 costly misses.
    Gawn: 9 HT hitouts
    Brayshaw: Stop kicking left
    Petty: Is no Tomlinson
    Rivers: At least he tried.
    Jackson: Early kicking errors.
    Fritsch: Costly kicking errors.
    Langdon: Had some glimpses.
    Harmes:  Should've tagged earlier.
    Salem: Was unaccountable defensively
    Lever: Battled despite landslide.
    Spargo: didn't phase scoreboard.
    Hibberd: Didn't notice him.
    Jordon: unsighted 2nd half.
    Neal-bullen: unsighted 2nd half.
    Sparrow: Had no awareness
    Weideman: not 1 kick

Thought May was actually decent. Shut down Elliot in the first half but then went on Mihocek and I think he kicked one on him. The other goals were on Petty.

Petty was poor, although Darcy Cameron was gifted two of them by the umpire.

The Dees/Ess Sunday game last year was postponed because McKenna tested positive on the Friday and the Saturday.  It was a new situation and no time to develop contingencies.

iirc McKenna had been in the weights room and attend meetings with his 'group'.  The health department ticked this off as being ok and other Ess players did not need to isolate for 14 days.

Unless one of our players or officials tests positive I see no reason why tomorrow night's game should not go ahead.

The other thing to remember is that we had restrictions went that happened. Connor broke restrictions.

Marty hasn’t done anything wrong here. He’s just unlucky and it’s very hard to keep on top of all the exposure sites. New ones are getting added by the hour.

  4. Getting a please explain from the umpires won’t change a thing, but I think it’s important for the club to stand up and ask the question.

People said Hardwick was whinging but at least he’s being honest and not copping it. I just think not asking the question makes us look like a club that just accepts poor treatment from the AFL.

    Oliver - incredible second half

    Langdon - disposals were ordinary

    Gawn - reduced to mediocrity

    McDonald - last year’s version

    Weideman - was virtually unsighted

    Fritsch - was totally unsighted

    Harmes - keep it simple

    Petracca - prolific not outstanding

    Spargo - had little involvement

    Rivers - unsighted after first

    Pickett - couldn’t get going

    Melksham - selfish and limited

    Neal-Bullen- a limited player

    May - season worst performance

    Jackson - fumbled and disappointing

    Lever - regularly stood up

    Brayshaw - couldn’t hurt opposition

    Hibberd - loose and limited

    Jordon - needs a rest

    Hunt - back to irrelevant

    Petty - provided little defence

    Jetta - offered us nothing

Agree with every single one of these.

  6. Maybe I’m catastrophising here, but I can easily see us going 9-3 here. Dogs are in unbelievable form and we face them at Marvel.

We then play the most in form team of the comp who’s won their past 6 games. A “home” game against Brisbane in Alice.Thank god we have the Pies after that.

I know we could have played better but that whistlw blew straight away when Max was tackoed. Seconds later a crows supporters disposes incorrectly...no whistle...mark and goal.

But the icing on the cake was to not call that punch over the line not deliberate. No player there.

They have been on that ALL YEAR FOR MUCH MUCH LESS.

As soon as it can impact a crows game they change their minds.

    Come on.

    Really.

If thats not bias umpiring there never has been.

I really hope Melbourne enquires it. Goodwin never does. He just has the view of “swings and roundabouts” but that non decision was clearly influenced by the crowd.

Crows will continue to fall away but their supporters should be hopeful.  At round 4 they were 3-1 in 5th position.  They have plenty to work with.

We will blow them off the park though.

2 of those wins were against North and the Suns at home by just 10pts.

How they beat the Cats in round 1 is still a mystery. Geelong simply didn’t turn up and by the time they did it was too late.

They’re still a sneaky chance of the wooden spoon in my opinion as I can only see their season getting worse and worse.

  9. Beautiful weather in Adelaide today it looks. 24 and sunny with only a few clouds.

I’m actually thinking we’re going to have one of our bigger wins today. 40+ points. The crows have fallen into a hole lately (although they were decent last week). I just can’t see them kicking many goals against our defence. We’ll do what the Giants did to them a few weeks ago.

  10. Brown can manufacture goals a bit better than Weid can, and if he takes a mark inside 50, it’s 80% going through compared to Weid who is a 50-50 set shot.

Having said that, Weid can crash packs better than Brown and is better at ground level. It’s a tough choice.

Let’s see how Weid goes this w/e, but if he doesn’t hit the scoreboard, then surely Brown comes back in. We need as much scoreboard pressure against the Dogs that we can get.

    • Fritsch terrible, looked lazy, hope he cops a rocket

Had Rampe on him most of the night and he’s the Swans best defender. Tmac and BBB wouldn’t have played so well if Fritsch didn’t get the best defender.

Negative infinity points to Luke Darcy who several times referred to James Jordon as Jordon Jones in the broadcast. I honestly weep for the state of our great game's commentary.

I haven’t watched the replay yet after getting home from the game, but that doesn’t surprise me, he’s a woeful commentator who also shouldn’t be allowed to do Dogs games.

  13. Can someone explain how the Saints have 54k members this year and we’re only on 46k? We’ve had a higher tally them then the last few years (9k more in 2019), yet, there they are sitting 14th on the ladder or something with 8k more members than us?

  14. I reckon North are due some credit. They played an outstanding first half and when you listen to Goody’s post match, he did say the Kangas had a specific plan against us which they executed well.

Does anyone know if Paul Roos was in the opposition box?

One last thing, what was with Ben Brown not extending the dukes at all for the whole game? Kept on trying to mark on his chest time and time again which allowed McKay to get a fist in.
