The Dusty" don't argue"
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just don't let him get the ball (anywhere important) in the first place? -
AFL 360 asks if Melbourne can make the 8?
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to Ron Burgundy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Did Whately "Steady on! Just steady on!" this?? -
(I'm interested in this topic because I hope we're in the frame for it to be actually at all relevant to us!! So...) I reckon that's the point. So the contingency after the first '5+5' should just be another 5+5, same rules. And another (and another, etc), if necessary but, seriously, how likely? I hope there isn't any OH&S nervousNelliedom: an extra half hour, say, after two dozen weeks of 3 hours? Suck it up. What a spectacle; what tension; what a 'tune in' impetus. And surely there can't be any issue of delaying other programs - look at how lengthy golf major play-offs are accommodated, for example. If one went into the evening's programming (that's about a dozen consecutive ties!) maybe then they can rethink it for subsequent years.

Will love to be in the position that that might be an issue 110 minutes in the future!...

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
Until the game day threads start, this is the nearest next best for this: Love the photo on the promo for Sunday just sent to me by the club. Chunk in fist-pumping exhultation after another rousing goal; Cotchin looking downfield with a worried look on his face! -
The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan

Two words from JH's 'Burgo-poster': "WE" and "BELIEF" -
I don't get any of this but it makes me smile! So thanks!

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Round 4
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is so a Jack Watts thread! (but it doesn't quite look like what I'm used to?!) -

Well, that's a departure from the accepted DL wisdom re JG! Love them both and wish we could pick 30 each week! -

Didn't see the game and haven't seen the replay yet (am just getting vicarious jollies from trawling through this thread atm) but my best impressions of AB's short career so far have been him loping through the corridor and raking it into the 50 (usually to Jeffy). Do we want/need him in the forwards? He's a back-of-the-square-to-forward-of-the-square link for mine. Clarry ('Jordie'?) is a get it in the contest / rip it out of the contest type for me. -

57 MFC V 64 MFC NUMBER PLATES
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
A straw poll: How many here on D'Land have MFC-related plates? I am one (though I, like many, will prefer to sit on the specifics, to keep my anonimity). -
57 MFC V 64 MFC NUMBER PLATES
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
I imagine the critical mass of demons there will allow Hell to be successful in the rights bidding. And the replays will always melt at the 30 minute mark of a 10 goal last quarter. -
Everyone's a little 'Ian Nankervis'
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to H_T's topic in Melbourne Demons
As Douglas Adams might (not) have said to you all, "So long, and thanks for all the giraffes" -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 4
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Always my fear, too, GoB - it's almost infallibly fatal - but fear not this time; the sub-editor's dream, the American 'Pie, is playing his first! -

Fasolo: Round 1, poor; Round 2, brilliant; Round 3, poor. Uh oh! Break the run, Nev. -
Steady BA, we all have to start somewhere. I'm just impressed they've known how to start a thread!

And a number of other China/Chinese community based initiatives, I think, here and in China. Reaction from PJ or Bartlett?

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Round 3
Timothy Reddan-A'Blew replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not voting, having not yet seen the game, but I just wanted to comment on how totally lacking in negativity has been the voting above, indicating that today was very positive for the club, despite the 'loss'. Often even our wins have had a negative cast in the votes thread. We seem to have been a real 2016 AFL football team today.
