Mate the clubs own press release stated that; "Oliver, who averaged 19.2 disposals per game in his first season, has had a slow start to this pre-season and has been training with the rehab group as he looks to return his fitness levels to an acceptable standard." That has come from the club! But I suppose you'd know better? ?

Bugg won it, Jones 2nd, ANB 3rd. -
This is what Roos said he'd be doing all along. 6 months in Hawaii, 6 in Melbourne where he'd be working in the media.

I think that's the biggest thing we've got to look forward to next year, the fact that there are very few players we'll be disappointed to see out there. 5-6 years ago I reckon there were 15 blokes on the list who'd frustrate the hell out of you and you'd be annoyed to see them picked on the weekend, now there are barely any. Credit to all involved in the footy department. -
Jon Ralph tweeted today that it was lower end, ie not over .05, but as has been said, he's a P plater.

Nobody, I don't think, is suggesting we'd rather Parish to Oliver, but to say that Oliver is ahead at the moment is rubbish. 19 votes in the rising star to 1 backs this up. We're all excited about what Oliver will become but Parish had a better and far more consistent first season.

Just another Viv Michie.

No idea what that means.

Dreadful, limited footballer. Anyone with half a football brain who's watched him for 5 minutes could surely see that?

And what was the upshot? -
Had a good yarn to Lewis at the Sorrento pub last night, with a mutual friend. Tried not to bother him at too much length about footy but he's EXTREMELY excited about starting with the club and our future. I was quite surprised how passionate he was and how convinced he is of where the club is headed. Said he wants a fifth flag before he finishes up. Other tidbits, he said unprompted how impressed he was with Goodwin. When MFC presented to him he was thinking this bloke seriously knows his footy, and speaking to the other players he says not only do they love him as a bloke but they reckon he'll be an outstanding coach as he is a real student of the game and knows how to manage people. Hopefully turns out to be true. My mate asked him how he thought the Hawks would go this year and he said, verbatim, "couldn't care less. Hope they finish last". Obviously everything not at all rosy with that relationship despite what he said publicly in interviews.

You're allowed to nominate one rookie to be eligible for the season prior to round 1. Wagner will probably be ours. Why upgrade him if we don't have to?

Why?

Sounds like exactly the same story as Ben Kennedy -
Hibberd is an extremely similar player. Not sure we have any need for him.
-
Gibbs is about to turn 28, has won one BnF and averages 5.5 Brownlow votes a season. If they get pick 13 for him they've done well.
-
Letting someone who'd currently be their best player leave for a pick 39 who played 3 games? I'd say he'd agree it was a blunder.

Odd post. In the past five seasons, he's played 22, 24, 17, 20 and 24 games.

Cool story Wayne except he would have to agree to Gold Coast which he never would. -
That's Whitfield.
