  1. At present he is badly needed as a high flyer on the firward line ( great mark v Adelaide, 2 near things yesterday) this makes defenders nervous. And I think he applies plenty pressure. Might be in jeopardy if we were full strength. Having watched all but the first 20 minutes of the replay I must say what a great game was played by Oscar. In the time I watched, no handling errors, several good intercept marks. I think he's going to be a star. Was better than Frost yesterday. And Tyson was good over the whole game whereas the other mids were awful up until half time.
  2. Well. With the team we have at present he is important. He marks better than his height would suggest. Nearly grabbed a couple of beauties today, represented an aerial threat. If our best team can be picked he may not make it
  3. Anyway the best aspect is that Fasolo played today, and pretty well too! Good luck to him
  4. Petracca watts O Mac Tyson Jones Hibberd
  5. And I thought that, overall, Bruce highlighted Lever's weakness.
  6. Not keen on Martin Flanagan?
  7. I had a distant memory that some dill wrote off Hannan pre season, and now I've found it! Do you have any more predictions?
  8. Bit rough not to accept that the injuries both before and during the Richmond match, didn't cost us that game. We dominated that game for long periods, the loss of Spencer was ultimately fatal
  9. I have much regard for Pedo. but on the occasions he played back for MFC he was awful. Couldn't spoil . Truly, as a defender, Oscar is better than Pedo.
  10. That is just BS! He wasn't beaten yesterday , he wasn't beaten v Adelaide. Last week Frost was on Brown much of the time, anyway, the way Brown was given the ball it was easy for him i reckon he's one of the most promising players in the team. Will be an absolute star.
  11. Hid did kick awfully on several occasions. Defended well but we were better when he didn't have the ball!
  12. Jones Garlett Harmes Hannah Hibberd tyson
  13. That's fair enough! joeboy and others don't understand Tyson. He's not fast. In the first half of matches he tends to be under pressure. But as the game progresses his extraordinary strength in the packs increasingly prevails. It's not front running. It's just that he's better in the second half! we should offer greater recognition to Harmes and Hannah. At least Harmes can kick straight and his goals, when things were desperate, were vital. And Hannah is a born opportunist. It's true that Bugg, as a forward, has a great defensive game, but for some reason he's poking at his kicks rather than kicking through the ball. If he could cure this, and his kicking action is sound enough, he would be very valuable. And we would have won last week.
  14. No it's not. It's absolutely pertinent
  15. Can't believe Tom mcD doesn't get a mention. When he played back we came good. But for some reason he had to ruck most of the last quarter hibberd, hannah, Viney, Tom MCD, hunt, Tyson
  16. Rubbish. You weren't there! The advantage North gained from Goldstein ( particularly around the ground) was overwhelming. Was Pedersen injured before 3/4 time? Tom MCD rucked for the first 20 minutes of the last quarter, then Watts for 5 before Tom took over again. Something very odd about all of this.
  17. Just shows how a loss can stir you up. None of his kicks were directly in front, all,on a bad angle for a left foot kick. Didn't play well but didn't shirk it, didn't give up. Is a good forward line mark for his height .
  18. Yes, but arguably the most important development to have affected the club in the past few weeks has been Tom MCD playing on the ball and forward.. think of it! We may have solved the CHF problem. Remember Schwartz' role after he did his knee. He played CHF effectively enough, while doing much bullocking and ruck work on the forward line. as to his kicking, many of his long kicks are fine. It's his 20m passes across the backline which worry me. one olther point. While Frost is playing well it's the arrival of Hibberd on the backline which has made a huge difference. He is good enough to play as the third tall
  19. Agreed. And to think this is the situation when Tom MCD played forward is amazing. Who would have thought this a few weeks ago?o
  20. I think there is a failure of memory here. We won 8.5 games in 2011. Moloney was easily our best . He got 19 votes in the Brownlow ( who else from MFC has got 19,Brownlow votes in the past 15 years?). Green was captain, past his best but a decent, respected leader. Moloney was VC, Rivers and Davey DVCs. Jamar and Frawley were good, senior players. Martin was promising. The 2 kids, Trengove and Grimes were playing well until made captains. The loss at Geelong scarred everybody, but it was not the failed club which had to be rescued after 1.5 seasons under Neeld, by which time Green had retired, Rivers and Moloney gone to Geelong and Brisbane, to be followed by Martin who didn't want to go and who has starred since. It was hard on Neeld that Scully quit for a heap of money i thought Molonet's comments were not bitchy but simply set out what happened. He had come off a great season, he loved the club, he had his faults ( I agree he was rather one dimensional) but he was very unfairly sidelined as were many others. and as for Neeld, I feel sorry for him. He tried but failed. He was strongly recommended by many--not just Gary Lyon. In the end he was humiliated and we endured the worst period the club had experienced.
  21. Can u name any other club where there had been such a clearing out of ALL senior players? with great success!
  22. Sorry. i hadn't read the piece about Scully and vomit properly! It wasn't Moloney wot dun it.
  23. That may be true for some of the senior players, but, by no means, all. Some , eg Brad Green, had given long distinguished service, yet they were deprived of any input.. Those who had finished on top in the Bluey Truscott the previous year, were effectively rubbished and largely gone by season's end.
  24. Bugger this! The first match Neeld coached, against Brisbane from memory, we showed a depressing brand of football, aiming at stoppages around the boundary line--a method of play for which we had no advantages whatever. Lost by a fair margin, lost the following week by 100 points. Coach said " we didn't see this coming" . And it just got worse. We had won 8 games the previous year. My memory may fail me but I don't think we won 8 in all the time while Neeld was coach. All the senior players were demoralised, two kids had their careers destroyed when made captain far too young. Stef Martin told to p--off. And now people inclined to support Neeld over Moloney, who was no angel but won a few games for us and for Brisbane after we got rid of him. If he vomited over Scully in China, then that's a great pity, it was an after season trip, and his damage to the club was quite insignificant compared with that inflicted by Neeld. Any number of players have had big nights out after footy matches. Should Moloney be condemned for this? I dont blame any one person for his appointment. Others who had worked with him were impressed and Gary Lyon, for one, felt he was the best choice. But it was an awful mistake. Everyone now knows that. On any view Beamer did more for the MFC, than did Mark Neeld who consigned us to our worst period ever.
  25. Absolutely it could be! We might have solved the CHF dilemma. i think Hibberd makes a huge difference. Previously we didn't have a third tall on the backline. Hibberd is tall enough, and good enough to fill that gap which enables Tom MCD to play forward, or on the ball. At the very least Tom will create a contest anywhere he plays. Even when Max comes back I see a role for Tom up forward
