  1. Pretty straight forward really. Ryan Ferguson didn't want to waste away his career at an under-performing minnow like Hawthorn.
  2. Wait... what!? Is that the level of research and preparation that goes into these articles?? If my boss saw that, I'd be out on the streets by close of business. However... even is he is that shoddy in his preparation, where was his editor in all of this?
  3. That’s just how the media works. We’ve been complaining since 2014 that he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Then, when he becomes a recognised ‘star’, he starts to get credit, even when he doesn’t deserve it. You've finally made it Neville!
  4. I really rate Tyson and he was excellent in 2016 when we rolled a top of the table Hawthorn. While I think Brayshaw will be a very good player, he’s not at Tyson’s level yet, so this inclusion is a net loss for me. Hannan’s inclusion is interesting and seeing his name along side Fritsch on the extended bench is going to be a common problem for the match committee. I predict just the one change though.
  5. This may be controversial, but I have heard that 'Hollywood' may be Brayshaw's problem at the moment and it is the reason he's not playing in the seniors.
  6. He was excellent in the second half of last year and kicked important goals at key moments in matches. He's clearly out of form as we know the high standard that he is capable of.
  7. Not sure on the rules, but he's not on either of these AFL lists... http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-03-22/official-afl-releases-list-of-2018-free-agents http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-09-06/2018-free-agents-lynch-gaff-headline-monster-list
  8. I don’t think he is an RFA, I think that’s an error in the article...
  9. I wonder if McCartin was next on our list in the 2014 draft..? If memory serves correctly the media assumed he was, but I’ve also heard DeGoey was being looked at.
  10. Like Frost when Oscar got tackled and pinged in the 4th quarter. Looked in two minds as to where he was meant to be and ended up frozen to the spot. Seems we like to handball our way out of tight squeezes and the consequence of this is players in the clinches are looking to receive rather than shepherd.
  11. Round 1: Second quarter Round 2: Fourth quarter Round 3: First quarter I therefore predict that Hawthorn will kick five unanswered goals in the third quarter!
  12. Agreed. When you see the technology available to the cricket umpires / telecasters, you shake your head at disbelief when you see the standard the AFL dishes up. In response to the OP, the field umpires looked equally perplexed by the decision on Monday, i’d say that’s the real reason the review was reviewed.
  13. It's always struck me as the Mick Malthouse style repeat entries and forward pressure. We aim to get the ball inside 50 as quickly as possible and bring the ball to ground. If our forwards are committing and applying pressure they can either gather and score, or force the defenders to rush a kick out of their defence into the arms of our half backs who have pushed up the ground. This tactic offers us heaps of inside 50s, but can be damaging if the defenders have the time, skill and poise to penetrate our forward-defensive press. This is how we're so often exposed on the rebound; it sometime feels like we've locked-up the ball in our half for 10 minutes, then the opposition suddenly gets a quick and easy one on the break.
  14. He works hard and seems the kind of players who is getting the most out of his somewhat limited ability. He’s the kind of player we had quite a few of from 2008-2015. Don’t think he’d be getting a game for us at the moment, but good luck to him at nth.
  15. Literally what I’ve been saying since pg 1.
  16. Can you post the quote where I said we’d be in a position to get him under our salary cap? I’ve never been of the belief that we have the money or the draft picks to get him over here...
  17. I can give you my response now. I never once said he would leave, not once. I said it was ‘possible’ and I even underlined that word for you on page 2 of this thread. It was and still is, and forever shall be POSSIBLE that Ollie Wines could leave Port Adelaide. If they sign him- great, good for them!
  18. Said their cap would be tight. Their cap is tight. Said it’s possible he could leave. He hasn’t re-signed. You said you never trust the football media. He still hasn’t signed. Can’t see what’s changed...
  19. I think Weed needs to build his own confidence in the VFL for up to half the season. I want to see him do well, then have teams put planning and effort into negating him, then see him overcome that. For his own benefit, he needs to dominate and prove himself before accepting the huge pressure of playing KPF at senior level.
  20. Please elaborate on your suffering???
  21. I just wish someone looked at me the way Simon Goodwin looks at Josh Wagner...
  22. I was quite confident going into last week and am finding minding myself feeling similarly confident going into this week... I have no idea what this means...
  23. It's pretty damning that the mis-matches we're referring to though are aerial contests between our marquee KPD and under-sized medium forwards. Lever is a gun, but he should not be beaten in the air one-on-one against Menzel or resting mid-fielders.
