He was a Demonland special in his draft year- his highlight package litvthis place up. I very much doubt the gc would want to part with him.
  2. Might be trying to off load only one of them and it could possibly be for the pick they're looking for, not the money. Would be strange to trade Salem after just re-signing him... (I thought you couldn't trade a player in their first year of contract... or did i imagine that..??)
  3. Who are they..? If we can talk so openly about Lever, why not them..?
  4. Wonder if they literally mean two first round picks or if the mean pick 10, plus another first round pick. Could we, for example, trade down our pick 10 to pick 17 before we forward it to Adelaide with next years..??
  5. If that could be negotiated down to 10 & 45 for Lever, we'd be laughing.
  6. I think our Football Department staff should stare at a picture of Scott Thompson for three minutes without blinking, before entering into any negotiations. The football world hasn't played fair with the MFC in the past, we're under no obligation to pay more than we absolutely have to for Lever.
  7. Would not include either of those with pick 10- especially not Hunt.
  8. UNDERSTANDING RICKY NIXON TWEETS....
  9. Connors can say what he likes - he isn't Lever's manager.
  10. He is, but his signing was hardy 'HUGE' at the time. If we land Lever it'll be the first time in god knows how long that a top line player picks us.
  11. When was the last time we traded in a top 50 player? Hibberd certainly wasn't top 50 when we signed him...
  12. We don't have a proven history of being able to get the 'big trades' done. Getting what would be two massive trades done in one trade period would be unprecedented in modern MFC history. One of these is possible and, in Lever's case, looks almost likely.
  13. Would have been nice if Goodwin had of told him to take it easy 10 weeks ago...
  14. What's the 'knock on him'? Any idea what's stopped him being drafted the last few years or is he new to footy??
  15. I wouldn't have thought we'd be too deeply into Josh Kelly. Nth (amongst others) appear obsessively hell-bent on selling everything to get him over. It'd be irresponsible of us to try to out bid that sort of lunacy.
  16. I was a little off the mark, but it's still garbage... https://mobile.twitter.com/AFLTradeWhisper/status/782868612944060416?ref_src=twsrc^tfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fdemonland.com%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcore%26module%3Dsystem%26controller%3Dembed%26url%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Fafltradewhisper%2Fstatus%2F782868612944060416
  17. Didn't he accidentally out himself as Mike Sheahan's son last year??
  18. Same guy that announced Jesse Hogan's retirement from footy last year??

He had an absolute mare, but that comes at the tail end of a fantastic season. Must swing forward (fingers crossed) for finals if Hogan is to miss.
  20. I had a cheeky peek too. Most are resigned to him leaving and saw decent value in the Frost + a pick proposal.
  21. Nowadays that sometimes all you need to do. Hunt does offer that element to our side, Frost however would overtake Hibberd at a canter.
  22. In terms of quality as a stand alone player, spot on. However when putting a backline together, ideally you're looking for a variety of complimentary skillsets. Frost's strengths are his speed, athleticism and ability to break the lines; his weakness is his disposal. In a more technically skilful backline such as Adelaide's, Frost could excel by complimenting the players they already have.
  23. Agreed, but the truth of the matter is you need to give something of quality to get quality in return. I quite like how our backline is shaping up, and Frost possesses athletic qualities that simply cannot be replaced. However, I cannot deny that Lever is at a standard and quality that not many on our list possess.
  24. Those adversarial days are more or less in the past. Nowadays you beat teams through a team defence. If your midfield dominates and pressures the ball carrier, you starve the opposition forwards of quality entries.
