it’s interesting that irish players in general have all been excellent kicks of the footy. you could argue the skilful players are recruited but i think it’s more than that. it’s baffling to me that AFL can’t at least kick at 80% on their non preferred and a lot of players are described as average kicks after playing their entire lives. room for improvement in the junior coaching i reckon *disclaimer. never player footy so what do i know

I personally don't think Gawn and Grundy work well as a ruck/fwd combo. Gawn is far too good to not be dominating in the middle and neither plays well fwd. Fair enough to give it another go but Grundy will have impact up fwd to stay in the side and he has not done that to date

We aren't copying the yanks as such. Its been a global movement, and the US have been big drivers admittedly. Sam Kerr plays in the english league for Chelsea for example, and they regularly have big crowds. The global game is getting huge and the quality of football is terrific. Ellie has played in France for 5-6 years now This sort of change is fantastic to see
