I think losing a grand final is a tragedy in many ways. You get scarred mentally and then get screwed with draft picks and the draw. It's a long way back.

I think Rockliffs relationship with his coach tainted his time at the Lions and often there is no way back from that. Leppa had a bit of Neeld about him from what I hear.
