  1. I'm pretty sure Roos is mindful of doing that himself. Last thing he wants to do is tarnish his legacy with a brief lacklustre failed attempt at turning around the dees. He's said as much himself, when noting its not about the money, it's about him having the desire. I'm not worried in the slightest.
  2. He has been great recently, but really needs to sort out that ball "drop". He almost throws it up rather than dropping it. If he can get that right, he'll be a real weapon.
  3. Someone find out where Michelle Jenneke is, drag her down to AAMI Park and lock her in a room for a few days with Hogan.
  4. Pretty sure I started the rumour that Buckley loves Taylor Adams on big footy a couple of years ago. Based on a kid I worked with being good friends with him at school, who relayed the info that he was Buckley's pet when coaching the VC U/16 team. Always saying "do this, just like Tay does it." Also during some brief half-time footage a few years ago to show Buckley's supposed state U/16 coaching "prowess" when still a media darling, he praised Adams multiple times.
  5. Yes, I've already been an advocate of recruiting Cross. Great bloke, strong character, fanatical about footy and getting the best out of himself.
  6. Who is the "right midfielder"? I'm more concerned with building the right midfield.
  7. I'm thankful Neeld came to the club and installed a professional framework that will aid our successes in the future, but in terms of actual coaching and managing personalities he was seriously lacking. We move on to better things.
  8. When I first saw this thread, I thought it was about finding a girl to stop Hogan from thinking of ever returning to WA.
  9. I think this'll be good for GC. The players learning to play without relying on Ablett and being forced to take more responsibility, can only put then in good stead for when he returns.
  10. Are you kidding? He has tricks. Agility and quickness are his biggest strengths, in my opinion. So far from one-paced, I can't believe someone would say it. His evasive skills are first class.
  11. So am I. Not really llike Fyfe, much more like Mundy.
  12. Why? Because he's from WA? And we don't know when our 2nd pick will be...
  13. I think we'll see pick 3 and Dale Morris traded for pick 1. Just my prediction, no inside info. And no chance I'd trade Chip for anyone. Dominant key defenders are incredibly hard to find. I think in a good side he is better than Scott Thompson, Ben Reid, Michael Jamieson or Harry Taylor.
  14. Fyfe? Wouldn't have thought so. Moreso Mundy.
  15. Getting Sheed with our 2nd pick would be a dream result.
  16. Ironically, it was Nathan Jones who was due to appear. Can't remember why the club pulled his appearance though. I think we may have suffered a bad loss that week.
  17. Simple - give them the "I need to know now, as I need to pre-purchase the tickets cos they'll sell out." Don't give them the option of waiting and getting them on the night. Then you have the answer you need.
  18. He's not big, but I think he has a perfectly acceptable size for a kid that age. Not too dissimilar to Cotchin's size at the same age. Hardly an indictment. I don't subscribe to the strategy of drafting big bodied kids to compete straight away. You're drafting them for what they will become. That means you assess their body type and how they will fill out. & don't go for kids with a small bum and small hands.
  19. I doubt Howe gets us what we want, unless what we want is to keep him and build a decent midfield ourselves. The club actually needs him to generate excitement with the fans whilst we are still struggling as a club.
  20. They ask that question for it to be an attention-grabbing headline for an otherwise pedestrian article. I see Aish as being a hard worked, having good skill and decision making, and having great agility and lateral quickness like a Dayne Beams. Worthy of a top 5 pick.
  21. It's irrelevant whether we can or not. PJ has publicly stated that we won't speak to candidates without gaining permission from their employer first.
  22. That's my contention re: Boyd. Not much competition. Only Darcy Gardiner looks a half decent KPD and Boyd was injured when VM played VC. There's things like him having skill, being able to execute under pressure and taking marks at the peak of his leap, but I'd like to see how he competes against kids his own size and ability. So far, we've not seen that.
  23. It's thin, isn't it. Aish I'm not sold on based on the last 2 games, but I accept that he has form on the board and is recovering from injury. Has looked like he has the tools in isolated moments. Finds time and has good agility and lateral movement, the sort that makes Beams and Sidebottom so damaging. Kelly is class, but a lot more outside than inside. Knows where to go to get the footy, can use it. How his body will develop is key. Sheed is a solid bet. Inside, outside and goalkicking mid. Not sure of his ceiling, but he's pretty good now. Maybe a bit one-paced? Scharenberg looks very good, but I'd rather have seen him play in the midfield rather than picking up cheap kicks sweeping across half back.
