  1. You mean the source that told him what he calls a "rumour"?
  2. That's the role I see him playing for the Eagles. Loose footy driving the ball forward with long kicks. Maybe a bit of the Embley role too.
  3. It's not the answer, but when you find the answer, it makes your ascension up the ladder that much greater.
  4. Strong wind in the middle that is hard to detect from the sidelines, according to the werribee coach at quarter time.
  5. Some things never change. Addam Maric still causing facepalms for Casey supporters.
  6. It's probably around what I'd expect to get in a trade. I thought they were considering scrapping it, but it wouldn't happen this year.
  7. Rodan is just far too unpredictable to his teammates, especially forwards ahead of him trying to lead for him. Next time you see him with the ball, imagine being a forward ahead trying to lead for him. It'd be a nightmare, with all his stutter steps, jukes, twisting and turning. I'd hate playing with him.
  8. FA compensation isn't great, but I think we'd get an alright return for Sylvia. It all depends on how much we have to pay him.
  9. I'd prefer he is moved on, but I watched him put in yesterday. He's not smart enough, good enough, or a good enough leader to persevere with, unless there is minimal cost in keeping him. Having said that, he chased, harder than I've seen for a while (bar the last 2 weeks) and laid some hard tackles. He wasn't great, but was hardly terrible in a side getting smashed. I'm not an apologist. I just don't criticise where it is unwarranted, and you seem the least qualified person in this thread to comment. You weren't there, and you're relying in factually inaccurate stats sheet. You. Do. Not. Know. What. You. Are. Talking. About.
  10. It's not an obsession with a priority pick, it's an interest in forward planning, since its one of the few things we as supporters have to look forward to, that will have an influence on the club's success. Our season is pretty much over, bar the opportunity for development. The fact our season is pretty much over is exactly what's wrong with our club. Don't confuse the interests and fantasising of supporters as being inherent within club culture. It could've been the problem in recent history though, as I consider Schwab to have been a supporter who held an integral position at the club, not being able to help himself getting involved where his capabilities and title dictate that he shouldn't. Not an issue now though, since he is gone.
  11. Only if you don't understand how to do it in a constructive way, rather than negative.
  12. You think a player who does that wrong thing shouldn't be pulled up for it? Examples shouldn't be made to the group? Demands for better performances should cease? There's a way of doing it that would get results. Neeld's way was not that way. It's exactly what a strong coach would do.
  13. I'd also happily trade minidraft picks for top end picks this year. I firmly believe we'd never get equivalent value in terms of mature players, and that we should look for these older players in FA and other trades. Mini-draft for young top-end talent; trade/FA for need.
  14. I think the compulsory year in the 2s is rather enticing for clubs as it eases the development process. Clem Smith looks a good bet. Lachie Weller also. Not sure who else is in that bracket, but the chance to pinch the prospective number 1 pick of next year on the relative cheap, is hard to pass up. As for Voss and McCartney's whingeing, the Lions beat Geelong and the Dogs suffered a narrow loss. They can GAGF.
  15. Unless the coach admonishes him infront of the other players for weak efforts and incessantly demands more. A strong coach would do that.
  16. You're out of your depth. You Even thought he had no tackles. You've got no clue. Try going to a game instead of looking at a stat sheet for once. I still want him gone, but only a fool would single out Sylvia after today.
  17. You don't seem to even understand what the topic is. Please read it again
  18. How about the challenge? Growing his legacy? The prestige of resurrecting a club that has been in the wilderness for half a century? Being a head coach again in a situation where he will be given whatever he says he needs to succeed? Coaching in Melbourne where he grew up? It's not that hard to think of some plausible reasons.
  19. How many times did we get a clear possession with a precise kick to him in a position where we should expect him to mark? Few marks were taken on leads in the driving rain, where Sylvia gets the overwhelming majority of his. And he did chase and tackle, regardless of what stat sheet you've been reading. I'd prefer we move him on, but your criticism here is poorly informed.
  20. Did you notice on tv it was wet? I was there, and was surprised when any player took a mark.
  21. Plenty of ketamine, too.
  22. Pissing down rain here in Geelong. Not gonna be fun standing in the terraces. Good thing I'm a desperate tragic.
