  1. Interesting! A point my father has made to me on many occasions. "Son why are you supporting a Victorian team and Melbourne at that?" "Because Dad the only good Fremantle team is a totally defeated one, plus I hate the Eagles for what they did to West Perth!. I will never support either of the two local AFL teams!" Does this view make me a Bad 4th Generation West Australian ? I actually consider myself very loyal West Australian (Sandgroper) but still support and a member of the MFC. Which I am a much more passionate supporter of then I ever was as a WCE supporter. I would even go as far to say that for the first time I feel more passionate about my AFL team then my local WAFL team (another Host Club arrangement just has me wondering why don't they just close down the WAFL officially, instead of this stupid policy of driving away any remaining supporters from the competition) AFL is what I had called Corporate Football as it focuses on making money over having a fair and equitable competition e.g. the Collingwood's dream Home & Away Fixtures. Player moving between teams is now also very much encouraged, so IMO there much less loyalty to Clubs and the Players. Player recruitment seems more like the old Viking raiding party on another Football Club, just take what you want without really giving anything back. My West Australian Team is the West Perth Falcons who once was called the Victorians (original Club name) which was established in 1885 (older then Collingwood) and remains a members owned Club. My Australian Football League Team is the Melbourne Football Club due to also being the oldest Club in its League (any League really) its colours, theme song and a members owned Club, The WCE is owned by a company and the Dockers is owned by the WA Football Commission which also owns all the shares of the WCE parent company as well. Therefore both of them are not membership owned so why should I support or be a member of either of these teams? Anyway Go Sydney, Hawks, Cats! The Purple Plague can go stuffed!
  2. OD I can confirm it will be an West Perth (Falcons) v's East Perth (Royals) WAFL Grand Final. Results: Round 1 Mar 16 West Perth 19.18 (132) East Perth 9.3 (57) Arena Joondalup Round 11 Jun 3 East Perth 17.12 (114) West Perth 14.11 (95) Medibank Stadium Round 19 Jul 27 West Perth 10.14 (74) East Perth 6.8 (44) Arena Joondalup Games went to the Home teams during the season. GF will be played at Subiaco (Paterson) Oval. East Perth Home Ground was once called Leederville Oval which was the Home Ground for the Wast Perth Football Club for well over 70 plus years. In 1994 the Falcons moved to Joondalup to improve its recruiting / zone plus financial incentives.
  3. West Perth's Reserve side has also made next weeks Grand Final. So it will be a West Perth v's South Fremantle Reserve GF. At this stage it could be a Perth Derby League GF with West v's East. But it only the second quarter in the Preliminary Final. The Red and Blue are unstoppable LOL
  4. South Fremantle, East Fremantle or just Fremantle I view them all the same. The Enemy! Plus I was at a Corporate Function with Fremantle this year and they when taking the micky out of the MFC. A few years ago at a game with my Dad their mascot went to shake my hand and then gave me an insulting gesture as I was wearing MFC gear. The more I see Fremantle the more want them to lose. But agree with Sydney winning the Flag.
  5. Think I seen it but can not remember it.
  6. But Freo is still in the Finals! I just want the Purple People to be 10 goals up in the Grand Final at three Quarter time and lose the game by 1 point. Then the 2013 AFL Season will not be a total waste.
  7. You mean South Melbourne?
  8. OMG do you mean Carlton lost?
  9. I did notice LOL But we all do what we must.
  10. I think you may be right. I have a few Avatars which may be fun to use. But I know I will always return to a Blue and Red Frog.
  11. If I understand the reason for them wanting to leave is they are not Banana Benders and they just want to go home. So the MFC may be a good option now as now we have an A Grade coach.
  12. I can never understand my 5 children but may be that because they walk on four legs and only seem to want food LOL I had a Avatar with a red and blue beard yesterday but I am still look for the perfect one. I did have a laugh when I was doing a Google image search on red and blue beards and your Avatar was there.
  13. Love Sci Fi but not seen a good show for ages. Loved the original Star Wars but the new stuff is just OK and does not have the magic of the earlier shows. Bladerunner was good,
  14. R & BB don't you think its time to have a shave as it is no longer the 70's and the season of Pain is over for us? I could assist you in the search for a clean shaven Avatar. HAHA PS as a reward I can send you 2 taste Bananas!
  15. IMO It would be so funny if Carton ends up winning the Flag, poor little Messendon. Although, I know what you mean as my second most disliked team is still in the Finals and have a home game final. Although my most disliked team has been knocked out already. (Freo & Collingwood) But on a lighter note the team I have supported for about 42 years (I have only been around for 45 years myself) is in the Grand Final and could win its first Premiership since 2003. I only been supported the MFC since 1999, when I stop supporting the WCE as a result of the destruction of the WAFL completion. I really feel for all the long term MFC supporters who may have never seen their Club win a Flag. Although as much as this season really sucks but maybe it was needed to give the Club a real chance at a Grand Final victory within the next five to ten years.
  16. Sorry but I just pumped as Claremont finished 4 or 5 games clear as minor Premiers and traditionally they beaten us in finals plus the game was played at their home ground. Stan Heal (1941) played 8 games for Melbourne including the Grand Final win. Stan was rated the third best in the Demons Grand Final victory. One week later he returned to the West and because he only went East because of his service in the Navy (National Service) he was entitled to re-join West Perth and take the place of one of their injured players. West Perth also won their 1941 Grand Final. Stan Heal was a champion West Perth player who was good enough to play in any league.
  17. So do you guys know who was the last person to play in a winning VFL and WAFL grand Final teams in the same year? Which year it was and for which Clubs do he play for?
  18. So are we going to do something special for our 250 page? I suggest a Banana Party Everyone must include in their posts the work Banana for a day or so. Those that don't must shout a round at the get together
  19. So you are saying as MFC supporters we get to vote more then once?
  20. So whats your opinion on the new Star Wars movies?
  21. Shhhh there are AFL investigators looking into drugs etc. Our offical line must be that we all drink banana smoothies at the MFC.  PS does anyone know which team Tony Abbott supports? People tell me the MFC as he the type of guy who will give alot to his mates. And now we have Roos we need lots of money LOL
  22. We could talk about apples or even pears LOL PS please don't make the call as it freaks me out hehe
  23. To better build their band. As "Cardinal" Red was seen as an old term and a bird of pray "falcons" was more modern term.
  24. He lost the bet.
  25. I was looking for the MFC party and the Paul Roos party but could not see them.
