Despite the fact that I wanted them to trial the two ruckman I always thought Preuss was brought in as an insurance policy on the chance Max went down with an injury. With a full complement to play with I don’t think the FD factors Preuss into the team. With Tomlinson joining this virtually guarantees Preuss will be biding his time at Casey.

Not sure what position we'll play him but you can bet your bottom dollar he will be playing relief ruckman for Max instead of Weid and TMac. Take that to the bank.

Whilst I agree that Mahoney is usually tight lipped during trade negotiations I got the impression that he was backed into a corner (for want of a better phrase) and didn’t mean to mention the 3 years on the table. He muttered it and I got the feeling he immediately regretted saying it. That’s my take anyway. I didn’t take it as a done deal at all but I’m a glass is half empty kinda guy.
