I think you can make an educated guess for when the game is likely to be. Round 16 when we play the Giants in Alice Springs will be From Friday 30/6 until Sunday 2/7. There about a 0.01% chance we will be playing the game on the Friday night. We usually play the games in AS during the day so it will either be Saturday 1/7 or Sunday 2/7. The game against Port last year was on Sunday at 2:50pm. 2020 against the Saints was on a Saturday night in late August. 2019 vs WCE was on a Sunday afternoon in mid July 2018 vs Adel was also on a Sunday afternoon in late May https://afltables.com/afl/venues/traeger_gm.html- Training and Trackwatching
They generally don't train on a Tuesday. Monday, Wednesday & Fridays are usually the training days. I assume if the club website says Friday is at Gosch's then that is an "Open" session. Therefore Wednesday is probably a "Closed" (or non advertised) session at Casey. From: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/teams/training-times AFL Training Sessions Date: Friday 16 December Time: 9.30am Location: Gosch's Paddock *Please note: Training times and locations are subject to change at late notice.- The 2023 AFL Fixture

That's the issue with chopping and changing. I went to Gosch's on Friday morning as I was heading in that direction anyway only for there to be no training. I had planned to go there again this morning but had something come up in the last minute. This is a big deterrent for me heading down there again unless I have business in the area. I definitely won't make the trek down the freeway for a session of watching the grass grow.- Training and Trackwatching

The club has put a spanner in the works of our preseason trackwatching activities by interchanging between Gosch's and Casey. As a result I thought I'd start a thread for any of the training sessions that we don't have any trackwatchers present. In this thread I will post any photos and videos that the club puts up on social media. If we have a trackwatcher at a particular session then that will have it's own thread.- The 2023 AFL Fixture
You'd have to assume that it is Victorian Free to Air. I'm not sure they even know AFL exists in Sydney.- The 2023 AFL Fixture

We only know the actually dates and times of the first 15 rounds. We know who we’re in the last 9 but not when.- The 2023 AFL Fixture
The AFL on Sunday confirmed it had adjusted the weighted rule to accommodate the extra round which means each club plays double-up games against six teams (instead of five) in 2023. The league also confirmed there would be a pre-finals bye on September 2-3 next year, despite opposition from top-four clubs that it advantages teams in the lower part of the eight.- PODCAST: Jason Taylor Interview 2022
I take your point. I was going to do a separate AFLW Grand Final podcast but I was just post op for my shoulder surgery at the time. Whilst not the reason for talking about the AFLW Grand Final at the end on this podcast the live listener stats each week drop as soon as we start talking about the AFLW. This fact does not deter me from discussing AFLW. During the Live show the other night we had about 50 to 70 live listeners throughout and during the time that we were talking AFLW it dropped into the teens. I have the LIVE listeners stats open whilst we are broadcasting live and this dramatic drop off in listeners is a weekly occurrence when we start talking about AFLW. To be clear this lack of interest whilst disheartening does not dissuade me from covering AFLW on the podcast or helping to promote the game in any way that I can. I recognise that the more that we cover the game and give it exposure the more interest that there will be. I have no such stats to draw on from the downloaded/streamed shows once they are uploaded as listeners drop off stats aren’t provided. Engagement on Demonland’s various social media pages is also quite low for any AFLW content we posts (with the exception of the Premiership winning post after the Grand Final). Whilst I understand that mens content engagement is going to trump the womens, the gulf at the moment is huge. We should promote the game more and give it equal billing but I don’t think Demonland as a website can be accused of ignoring the women’s games. We post a match preview & report prominently each week and there is discussion of the games and any news. One of our first interviews on the podcast was with Mel Hickey. This was organized directly through Mel. At another time I requested an interview with an AFLW player through the club and I didn’t receive a response back and haven’t actively tried again. I hope to promote the women’s game on Demonland and the podcast more in the future and do appreciate the feedback.- The 2023 AFL Fixture
Draw difficulty The top finishing team from the 2022 season (Geelong) is assigned 18 points. Moving down the table, each team is then assigned one less point with the team that finished last worth 1 point. Each teams matchups for the season are then combined, with the opponents points tallied. The tally shows which team has the most difficult draw based on how well teams performed last year. Port Adelaide 228 Sydney 226 Brisbane 225 Fremantle 223 Richmond 222 Western Bulldogs 221 Geelong 221 Hawthorn 220 GWS Giants 220 Gold Coast 218 North Melbourne 215 West Coast 215 Essendon 214 Collingwood 214 Carlton 214 Adelaide 214 Melbourne 212 St Kilda 211- The 2023 AFL Fixture
Based on the remaining fixtured but not scheduled games we might have up to 4 extra Friday night games. Carlton, Brisbane, Sydney & Richmond- The 2023 AFL Fixture
