  1. That is certainly possible. Chrome or Firefox might work. It all depends on how old the iPad is. It could be that a simple software update of the iPad will resolve the issue. If it is a really old device that is no longer receiving updates then there is nothing I can do and eventually many apps or features within apps won't work.
  2. I think you will find that being able to tab within the text book is adding more formatting functionality within these text boxes. It is likely seen as a feature.
  3. This software seems to be handling the Twitter/X links better than the old version but it also could just be that Twitter/X fixed something on their end.
  4. This isn't new information. I just want to post a link from X/Twitter to see if it is working.
  5. Sorry about that but short of finding a few trillion dollars between the couch cushions and buying Apple and changing their policy of forcing people to buy new devices because they no longer support them there is not really anything I can do. A friend of mine can no longer watch anything on Netflix because of the age of his iPad.
  6. This might be more to your liking. https://magpies.net/
  7. Please try posting from a different device to see if you are able to post. See if there is a software update available (Settings > General > Software Updates). If you can could you let me know which iOS software version you are running (Settings > General > About > iOS Version. I've reviewed the software manufacturer's forums for any similar issues, and it appears that most reported problems involve older devices or devices that haven't received recent software updates. Personally, I've successfully posted using an iPad that's a couple of years old without any issues. I'll also test tonight using my children's iPads, which are even older (but not ancient and most likely up to date with their software), to further investigate the matter.
  8. Before I assist you here. What the hell is going on with that font? This you can definitely blame on @Nasher . Not the font but the missing podcast files. He rightly removed them from the backup before we did the upgrade last night but forgot to put them back. Sabotage? Try it now and let me know.
  9. Several users have reported issues when trying to post from their iPads. However, I haven't yet received specific details regarding the age of their iPads or whether they are running the latest software updates. Older iPads often stop receiving software updates from Apple, which classifies them as 'end of life.' Consequently, these older devices and outdated software versions may encounter compatibility problems not only with this site but also with other websites and applications. Unfortunately, resolving these compatibility issues is beyond my control.
  10. Unfortunately this is not possible but thank you anyway.
  11. I would say it is 100% related to it being an old ipad. Particularly if the ipad no longer receives regular updates if at all. I have no idea what the minimum update requirement would be as this is just a hunch on my part that that is what is the issue.
  12. The majority of the changes are cosmetic and under the hood improvements. Basic functionality including the profanity filter remain. Please don't test it or try to circumvent it. The functionality of banning has not changed. If anything the frustration with the upgrade issues and losing sleep last night getting the look and feel of the site ready for today has made me even grumpier. Don't test the limits of this mod.
  13. Certain words in and of themselves might not seem offensive. But when you call someone an [censored] they certainly get offended and that is what we are avoiding. Can't we all just [censored] get along.
  14. @Flemo56 It worked fine when I tried it on my colleague's iPad. If it's not working for you, the reason might be because your iPad or its internet browser (usually Safari) is older or hasn't been updated in a long time. Websites often use newer technology that older devices or browsers can't properly understand. Try checking if your iPad has any software updates available, and install them if it does. After updating, check again to see if the website works.
  15. Test from an iPad
  16. I will have to check my ipad when I get home. Haven't done any testing on that device. Assume you are logged in on the iPad? I won't make the obvious joke based on the image about turning the iPad right side up.
  17. That's the way the new software handles the logos. I guess screen realestate is a premium. Most of the tutorials about the software had small logos rather than big banners. It doesn't phase me.
  18. No but I lost about 3 extra hours of sleep last night getting the site ready.
  19. As far as I can tell there is only the light and dark themes. Theoretically the light theme could be made neutral but to be honest for me the "branding" aspect is more important to me than you getting away with not working while you're at your job. ๐Ÿ˜œ
  20. It's on the to do list. The old chat room was a third party app that was always going to be nuked in the upgrade as the coding has slighty changed and there would be incompatibilities. I have to wait for a viable solution. There may already be one available I just have had other aspects of the site that I needed to get working for launch.
  21. Are you using a PC? How compact is your browsing window?
  22. Check the bottom of the page. There is a moon icon for dark theme and a light bulb icon for the light theme. The default is the light theme because I didn't want to scare anyone.
  23. The bolded or unbolded topic titles depending on whether youโ€™ve read the thread is still a feature. You have to be logged in though which is the same as in the past. On the homepage there is a slight delay but itโ€™s only a few minutes.
