Melbourne v West Coast

I didn't think I was being that cyrptic. I was suggesting that WC may be tanking to finish below us so they can get him

West Coast are after Daniel Rich from what I understand.

They need a replacement for Judd/Cousins, and they already have a gun ruckman.

what we are seeing in the 3rd qtr is why west coast are still much better than we are. they are mounting a comeback and we don't 'do' comeback's.........too much hard work.

Carlton and Richmond only need 2 more wins each to stop them from stealing the number 1 pick and there are 16 rounds to go and neither of them have played us yet...so im confident that we won't have to worry about them.

Freo i think will be ok. they have alot of talent in their team. they'll beat us this week most likely.

that only leaves WestCoast.

if we get pick 2 and get 'left' with Daniel Rich, i certainly won't be upset. it's a win-win as long as we can get one of the top two picks.

as long as we get one of them, its out of WC and us to see who finishes bottom

If WC get pick #1, they MAY use it on Rich. I agree with sylvinator, as long as we get one of the top 2 picks i wont be dissapointed.

Naita might slip to 2nd pick.

Don't ever underestimate Carlton's ability to roll over and play dead.

They lost their last 14 last year remember.

However I must say, I toasted an extra beer last night to the blue baggers.

2 to go, then they can lose as much as I like.

Their team is built around selfish and false values; they will never be any good.

We won't tank, we're just not capable of winning.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
