Post match interview

G'day Fellow Demons Supporters!

Well I'm back from the game now...........it was horrible. I hate doing it (and I'm ashamed of it) but I was one of those many Demons supporters that left at 3/4 time. :(

As I was walking back through the MCG carpark I turned to these Demons supporters walking alongside and said...."Well, that was s**t!" And their response was..."yep it was."

It was seriously like I was having nightmares of 1997 when the Demons last "won" the wooden spoon. What a DISGRACEFUL performance!

Anyways...enough ranting..I just wanted to know if people could tell me what Dean Bailey said in his Post-match interview?

I'm sure he's thinking to himself.............why did I get into this coaching caper? :o

wasn't angry, just very disappointed...

quite a measured interview... summed up our performance in a rational fashion... as i said, just very disappointed...

You cannot turn things around over one summer. We have to take our lumps this year and it will pay off in the long term.

Already looking forward to the response next week.

but it wasn't as if we were just beaten by a better side today... the effort just wasn't there from our players, that was the problem...

It wasn't a good enough response for me. He was too measured. I would have preferred some stronger words, if nothing else just to appease the fans somewhat!

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
