Good synopsis, Demoniac. I think the Foxtel cameramen were disadvantaged badly by the guernsey clash(worse in the bright sunlight).

I was at the game, and I found it a little tough to diffentiate the teams at times. Demons players wearing their - red - socks up helped.

Not much to add to what's been said before, except that we really suffered from a lack of structure up forward. So often we just had no one to kick it to beyond the centre of the ground, and I imagine that made some of our disposal / decision-making look even worse on TV.

Yes the clinical Kitty's clawed us until we were clueless...speaking of clueless - what about that away guernsey?

Well done to Martin, Garland, Buckley and Valenti who all showed something.

Strap yourselves in for a rollercoaster ride this season, we will cop the odd thumping but also pull of a some great wins, and come the end of the season we will have a much better developed list, and if thats not enough for you...

We still have the best song and jumper [season proper that is]

IMO we definately should have had a serious dip for the NAB Cup.

Stringing 5 wins together should be easier that making the finals and winning the big one in the premiership season.

Why not give the senior guys a decent hit out - afterall most of them sat on their laurels for most of last year.

It rubs salt into the wound for me that the club traded Trapper who put in such a great effort for the Brisbane Lions up at Carrara and all of our senior players are a complete embarassment against Geelong ....

Now we still have to travel the country playing "challenge" matches in [censored] poor venues where we still risk injury to our players.

There is almost as much prize money in the NAB Cup as winning the Grand Final and we could sure use it and the extra memberships. It has helped Geelong and Carlton recently to stay up there. Why not us ???

As for that playing strip - what are the boffins that run our club seriously thinking ??? major embarassment all round.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
