I just recieved a reminder SMS to buy my membership prior to end Dec ... But the strange this was it says it comes from StKildaFC!!!

I can only presume they all use a company to send these out. I just hope they dont mix up the databases.

Ha ha ha Just recieved a resend now from the "MELBOURNE fc" reckon somone got a smack over the head.

Haha!

Got the same message and laughed out loud - attracting attention from the rest of the office...

Haven't got the resend yet

Message Media in my building do the St Kilda footy club, so its probably them.

They text the players updates of training venues and times. It's a pity they don't fill in the key supporters on this forum who would like to watch training, but get shafted with late changes and end up going to the wrong venue.

This happens because the AFL run both the MFC and ST Kilda Membership Departmants

What? :o

What? :o

The AFL now has most* of the Victorian clubs membership departments run from AFL House in Docklands...

*I believe...

I'm not actually sure thats the case... I certainly know at the very least that the AFL have pretty much standardised all the membership packs of clubs - you'll find they are all almost exactly the same these days...

If they haven't got more than MFC and StK they will keep trying to get the others.

And the AFL don't run the membership departments.

The memberships are run by the clubs from within the clubs office.

However, AFL Membership, Bulldogs, St Kilda, Kangaroos and Melbourne base their processing of memberships, card printing and call centres now at AFL House.

Each have their own goals, but work similarly in the same environment.

I beleive this makes the process a fair bit cheaper as they share a card printing machine, printers etc.

Also, they hire lots of young trainees, and they are cheap.

That was the impression I was under Robbo - I knew it wasn't just Melbourne and the Saints in any case.

It is much cheaper certainly.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
