Perhaps due to the publicity the old man has been getting lately - Ablett threatens to quit AFL football

Let's see what happens a month or two down the track.

I knew the guy a few months before he agreed to play and then during his first year before I went off to London, and to be honest I was really really surprised he agreed to play.

He's always been good enough, but the desire is just not there and he is one of the shyest people I've ever met.

I think a lot of people have been in his ear, telling him how few people get the chance and how hard most people have to work to get there, but he's having them chasing HIM. People telling him how his dad was never lucky enough to win a GF and how he couldn't throw this chance away.

He's now won a premiership, in part for his dad. But now that he has done that, without having that desire that drives most AFL players... the guy just wanted to play footy with his mates.

However, he's not the type to talk about this sort of stuff, a very reserved guy and this is just me reading the situation as I saw it.
