Roos face coast ban

The AFL may pull the Kangaroos games from the Gold Coast next year if they say no to the deal

Hopefully its just a bullying tactic by the AFL to get the kangas to move - but the last sentence of the article has got me worried

'next year's fixture would more likely be made up of a variety of clubs playing home games at Carrara.'

The AFL is bullying all the 'poor clubs' and this is just another example of it. I dont want any more away 'home' games. The draw for us next year is not to bad without the AFL screwing it again. But i wont be suprised if they do

Just my thoughts

I read it to say that they would be likely to bring up clubs with good drawing capacity so that leaves us out!!!!

We are currently playing here next year anyhow so no difference if we did have a game but just might be at another time of the year.

As an away game. There is no way we should have to play another home game interstate, one is enough. The Kangaroos signed a deal to play there. The AFL need to stick with that deal rather then tear it up because they didn't get their way.

The most annoying party in all this is the Kangaroos.

I'll be so filthy on that club if Melbourne are forced to pick up the slack, should the AFL send us up there in replacement.

Having said that, it would be handy if the Roos V Melbourne game at Carrara gets transferred to the MCG!

The Kangas will play their 4 games their next year though. Just wild speculation by Caro.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
