Jace Bode - is he now a senior list player?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know whether Bode was uplifted from his rookie status today?

Was done during the season on a long term injury.

What an enormous transformation for this guy, who a couple of months ago looked like an absolute certainty to be delisted after struggling with injuries and poor form.

It's a credit to him, and he deserves the best of luck going forward!

Yeah. I had him written RIGHT off about 18 months ago, and was even more sure halfway through this season. Then all these glowing reports started trickling in from Sandy. Then it all started to snowball in a mini-juice kind of way, and before you know it he's all but secured his spot. Sensational to see him come from so far behind to have another couple of years to have a crack at it.

Now I've not been round for a while now, but Danny Hughes' delisting is news to me. I knew Hayes and Neaves were out, but I thought Hughes was still a chance. I saw a picture today of Neaves at training too... Hughes showed some promise, albeit a fair while ago now... Anyone with any news, inside info, or just their own impressions?

Ummm where did you hear that Hughes was delisted?

He is still on our rookie list as far as I know.

As for Neaves, he might be doing a pre-season with us with the hope of getting pick up again either by us or another club.

Click on the link. It says, fairly officially, that Hughes has been delisted.

So we're obviously going for a fresh rookie list next year, who knows, might pick up the next Dean Cox...

I note the clubs have heavily delisted Rookies this year, more than in the past.

Yeah hughes and neaves are both training, with rookies you are technically delisted then re-rookied. With the case of the third year i think we can only have one of them, but i think hughes b'day is a day before the rookie draft so he would be a meture aged rookie!

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.
