it appears to me that an afl membership is really just an mcg/td membership, with the option of spending a bit extra money to ensure your club gets something...

    You don't spend extra money to ensure your Club gets something, you just tick a box.

    If your a 'FULL Member' and you reside more than 180km from the Melbourne CBD,then you get a discounted rate of $322. inseated of $395 (2006/7 prices). But you can get it for $213 if you dont chose club support. (you will only get into the MCG and TD. ( maybe Aami stadium. depending on the new arrangements)

    If you reside 'within 180 km' of melbourne CBD it costs no extra.

    IF you are outside of that 180km distance, then it costs you an extra rate.
