Moderators editing posts

Featured Replies

Editing or deleting posts with no notice of having done so by moderators is deplorable.

I appreciate the need for doing so to maintain a healthy discussion but leaving absolutely no audit trail and changing the meaning and context is dishonest.

Can you please take this into account.

[Fatty: It is usually the practice that any edit of a post by a mod will involve some book mark of some sort unless the post is flaming or in serious breach of the COC.

I am not sure what post was changed and I am unable to assess what the matter is. If it is in regard to the player you have made accusation about then I understand why it was done. Please refer the COC

However if you ever repeat such an allegation about an MFC player as I have deleted you will be firmly dealt under the COC. It is a serious breach of the COC and you place the administrators and the owners in site in jeopardy.

There actually is an audit trail. "Super" mods (myself and Finks) are able to track the actions of all moderators. If you think you've been hardly done by send me a PM and I'll investigate. It's actually Demonland policy for mods to also leave the "edited by" tag at the bottom of the post if it's been edited. Not sure if everyone does that, but I definitely do.

That said, I'm not aware of any mod ever altering the body of a post that changes the context of a post. Usually it's to remove content that violates the COC, though sometimes I'll edit a post to remove duplicate content, fix up buggered up quote tags etc.

Fair enough.

Daniel Bell is NOT doing EPO. You've got no excuse now Jason.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
