Triple M Sunday

Featured Replies

Anyone hear on the Triple M sunday pre-game from I think Damien Barrett and/or Magic Mclean that they had it on good authority that Melbourne, given the 150th celebrations next year are NOT going to rebuild and are going to try to have as good a year on field as possible...

I realise it's just journo's rumourmongering, but any thoughts on that?

From my point of view, I would guess this may mean holding onto older guys like Ward, Bizzell for one more year. And it may mean trading for some experienced players...I'd probably be unhappy about that, but it would depend on who we got.

Any sane person would agree that delisting alot of the older players who aren't in our best 22 is the best thing for the club, regardless of any rebuilding.

Agree - if you're old and you're not in the best team, you're in trouble regardless.

This thinking would certainly match the suggestion that Sheedy would only come to Melbourne if he thought he could grab another premiership.

BTW - Moneyball is an outstanding read and well worth the time.

Absolutely, it's a great read - Dees could learn alot from the Oakland Athletics's management too I would reckon (though they are not going will this year).
