Also if there are any supporters living near Wollongong please send me a message. I'm bored with forcing my basketball crazed son to watch games.

Would love to go, but getting anywhere beyond my local shopping centre is a bridge too far. They should be putting these things on at my local pub in Dulwich Hill 😁

Enjoy the event and Go Dees!

Here's a bit more about the event.

Did I mention that NSW Demons support players in our great club?

In particular Matthew Jefferson.

Kelly will provide an in-depth look into the club’s current recruiting priorities and methodology and future draft and trading. An analysis of the recruiting strategy will include insights into how the club is strategizing for the future to maintain competitive success.

The Inner Sanctum event is an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain insight into the intricacies of footy recruitment and strategy, guided by Kelly O’Donnell’s extensive expertise. His career achievements and understanding of the game make him a pivotal figure in shaping Melbourne Football Club’s future.

Kelly O’Donnell has had a rich and varied career in Australian rules football. Kelly played 80 games for Melbourne Football Club from 1979 to 1984. He then coached the Murray Bushrangers to a Premiership in 1998 and was an assistant coach under Chris Connolly at Fremantle in Western Australia in 2001.

Kelly returned to Melbourne in 2007 as part of the coaching panel and transitioned to recruiting in 2012 and is currently the club’s pro scout, dedicated to identifying top talent for Melbourne Football Club

Prepare for an evening of engaging discussions and unmatched expertise in Sydney on Friday, 20 June 2025!

I hope the event attracts many people, Deeves. The NSW Demons sponsor Jeffo and that’s not cheap, and they’re his only sponsor.

It’s hard for them to organise events being that they’re not In Vic so I hope it’s a success.

Kelly’s a great guy and he’d have a lot of interesting things to talk about.

Great to hear from you GW.

I have high hopes for young Jeffo.

Apparently did well at Casey with five goals

He'll break through in the Seniors soon and then that.

Matthew will be playing in Sydney tomorrow at 1.35pm with the Casey team at Tramway Oval, Moore Park.

I expect we’ll also see Jacob Van Rooyen, Blake Howes, Koltyn Tholstrup, Taj Woewodin and Kynan Brown all playing. None named in the squad for Alice Springs.

Hope to see a few NSW Demons get along to support the Dees and Casey boys play Sydney.

Just trying to give this a bump to the home page.

Thanks.

You could’ve just bumped it, Deeves. You didn’t have to change your name

😁

I wanted to change it to Leonardo DEE Vinci but thought it too lame . Then I had writer's block. As one can tell.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
