I see what you’re trying to do but I’d rather, 
Play every one once, then the 6, 6 , 6 from the previous year. This gives a team that finished 7th/8th the previous year a relatively easy draw and a chance to climb higher and really challenges teams that finished in the top 6.

Or play every team once then 5 teams a second time. As an example Adelaide would play a second time
Year 1 
Brisbane 
Carlton
Collingwood 
Geelong 
Gold Coast

Year 2 
Giants
Hawks
Port
Tigers
Saints 

Etc…..
Every second time you play a side it’s at their home ground.
