Same as last year

this is exactly the same as last year we lost our first three games and the critisizing began and then we won wat the next 6 or 7 games they may have been tight but they were some of the best games we have seen melbourne play for a while. So i know no matter what happens ill be on the band wagon cheering on the mighty dees cause i no they will win this week and even if they dont we have to keep our team pride!!!!!!

Love your positivity BFP!

Circumstances are a little different as our injury list is longer than this time last year. However all it takes is a little momentum within a game, confidence will come and we can hopefully chalk up a win.

After a win we can get on a roll during the season and really turn things around.

GO DEES!

we're going to win...des headland offered a 5 match ban..thankyou. he wont get it down to nothing i can tell you that, daughter absue or not, he fair dinkum whacked selwood.

all the team needs is for as many melbourne supporters to show up as possible to keep them going once they know they have the support the can become a better team

The only similarty is 0-3 & thats where it ends. As mentioned earlier, injuries a little more severe, but the biggest difference, is the form of our big names or lack thereof..

i don t like being negative but if jamar white holland p johnson @ fergason are all picked again we wont beat freo

incorrect...if white plays, and jamar and holland we wont win. ferguson and paul johnson have been riddled by injuries..they need to string a few together before we can criticise them. pj is better than the other two atm. the other 3 need to lift BIGTIME.

Correct.

Last year, we improved with each passing round.

Our loss in Round 3 was very encouraging, and was very nearly a win against a top side.

Sunday's loss was the worst of the three. The game plan, the skills and the attitude were vastly different to last year, as is the injury list.

Nothing similar about this year and last, except where we are in terms of games won.

We can still turn the season around and make the 8, but we'll only be making up numbers yet again.

This year was meant to be a step forward, at best we'll remain stagnant.

i m a big fan of PJ but why not garland dunn @ newton on the foward line?

would like to see those guys u mentioned play (dunn, garland and especially newton)

I agree with you Jaded, you could tell we were gonna climb the ladder losing the game against adelaide 'controversially'. But this year we will be headed for the bottom 4 due to our poor form and injuries. There is no use just making the top 8. If we want to win the flag, we need to aim for top 4 and make it happen. ND will probably be gone after this season and we'll have a fresh new start.

chief demon put it beatuifully. end of story, no point going for the top8. Play newton, weetra, buckley, frawley, petterd, chris johnson, dunn all consistently

i think I would have to.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
