Occo, freo on top?? They are a good team on paper, but topping the comp by round 11 will be a tall order for the dockers.

Nice to see faith restored with demon fans, dont see the dees at 16th yet.

Dees to be sitting 8th by round 11 for me thanks.

4. Melbourne 11 8 3 0 1107 1058 32 104.6

surely we cant win 8 of our next 9 lol

surely we cant win 8 of our next 9 lol

Of course we can!

Watch Jamar, PJ and Godfrey kick 100 goals between them in the next 9 weeks

yep. freo are a very good team. remember its bad to peak to early and freo have a stellar run after the weeks break. add farmer and the team will be very damaging mark my words

its bad to peak early? do you still have optimism for us?

lol i believe you need to be 8 - 3 to have a chance at top 4. For all the MCG games we have in the next 4 weeks or so, we will be without 2 of our leading kickers. I give us very little hope and expect to see us go in 3 - 8. At the end of the day these games lost at the G will hurt when we come to go to subi, aami and even the gabba the rate bris are playing. If we can win every game after the break (11 - 0) then we will finish on 14 and that may be enough to scrape into the finals (most likely a 6-8 possie) and not good enough.

As for freo, well they have a few issues but they usally start slow anyway. the loss of farmer has hurt them badly but the addition of the likes of Browne has given them depth and they will finish with 9 - 2 after the break

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
