what is this annoying myth Petrraca is carrying extra weight?. reports have been his skin folds etc ar excellent. his work rate and attitude are excellent. yes work on the tank but its annoying these comments are made but based on what ? if Dusty couldn't run all day then you'd be saying well its because hes fat.

Don't put words in my mouth. NO WHERE did I say he was fat or overweight. You made that up.

If he was leaner without loss of strength it would clearly be an advantage. In recent years we've seen that from Gawn, Hogan and a bunch of others. Couple that with a bigger tank and he would be better suited to the midfield. It works.

Stop being such an outraged drama queen and read what is actually written

Harmes and Viney should both be used as defensive mids that run hard both ways in link up and can tag/defend.

That leaves Oliver (a very good tackler) and either Petracca or Gus as inside or outside mid.

I think it's clear that this should have been our set up for at least the past 12 months and it concerns me that Goodwin has failed to see this. It's the reason I now don't think he'll make it as our senior coach. However, let's hope he learns from this year.

I'd have runners on the wings. Langdon it seems and even someone like ANB.

I'd also push Melksham through the middle too on occasion. Hopefully he gets himself fit for 2020. His ball use is essential for a dangerous Melbourne forward of centre.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
