1. KB is a stirrer of old. He's world class at it too. Let the senile old bugger have his moment of joy.

2. Fluke or no fluke. Either way it's not easy. The RFC players and fans will be sorely disappointed at fluking a premiership. I know I would be.

I agree with the last part of your sentence.

If we had beaten North and had done the job against Collingwood in round 23 we would have been equal on points with GWS who finished 4th last year.

In that sense a top 4 finish is no pipe dream.

Winning the big one requires luck ... something we haven't had lots of for around 50 years.

I live in hope !!

So the advent of the GCSuns & of GWS has now been seen to have slowed the whole AFL competition down, RE the ladder evening out.

And we as a Club have been very good, with a little help from high, since PJ & Roos came along.

We have gotten some of the best off-field heads in at the club, and we are seeing the benefits of excellent people developing this club. We have outpaced many since 2013, developing some existing players, and clearing some off. And recruiting/developing players well since 2013.

We have gone past some clubs who have stalled, or slipped off the pace.

The top 4 isn't what it was 10 years ago when the Hawks, Cats & Swans were at their peak.

We are only just in a position to show the results of this hard work, & the results are not posted yet.

Over to the players now, to put UP or shut up.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
