As far as I understand it, McCartney last the senior players only. The junior players loved him and it's possibly why the young brigade have come on so well.

I'd have him at Melbourne. My preference though is for George to get bored in retirement and come to training for a few hours a few times a week.

It's hard to shift as the longer term'rs like their comfort familiar zones, & do not welcome incomers who want to shake things up. they resist & rebel, unless the coach is a god of coaches.

this is why we had to move players like moloney & green etc. to allow change to happen & grow. keep adding kids to the same old club with the same old leaders & you get the same old outcome. and same failures.
