Ya gotta admire the Saints

For the way they systematically dismantled the defensive capabilities of FREO.

It just goes to show that the rolling press which Freo have used to great effect is useless against a team that gets first use in the centre bounces, and creates space and gut running to optimum efficiency.

A few thoughts.

Farren Ray, what I wouldn't give for a guy like this who has become a very good in and outside player with pace and disposal efficiency. I think we made a play for him a season or two ago and nearly got him which would have been a huge bonus.

Nick Riewoldt what a great game showed true leadership in front line and kicked telling goals.

The pace improvement and zeal of Rhys Stanley ( what a great forwards Game) Jack Billings, Montana, Armitage, Gwilt and others et al. Not forgetting the inspiration of Lenny Hayes.

If I was St. Kilda supporter I would be very encouraged by the potentiality of the list.

Grunt, Height, Pace, Spread. and Disposal of the footy was of extremely high calibre( something we lack)

Enjoyed watching this last night.

Wasn't it great to see Ross Lyons face shaking his head and rueing the lack of pressure by his renowned outfit when put under the keenness and spirit of a St.Kilda outfit who played sensational footy. Don't think I've ever seen so many uncontested possesions gained against an unusually insipid Freo outfit who prides itself on Defensive pressure.

If The aints can cause and upset, ah, why can't we today against the power?

I have a close mate who works for the dockers so I have a soft spot for them, and I really think this loss will be far more valuable to the dockers than a win would have been, they needed the wake up call, they weren't in it mentally, the didn't care, had no respect for the saints and it cost them.

credit to the saints they played well, I personally didn't think they were capable of that sort of performance, especially over four quarters

been super impressive by young Dunstan, I thought during his under 18 days he was a little bit one paced, I thought he'd be a solid footballer but not too much more, absolutely thrilled to have been wrong about that.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
