New Year's resolution for Demonland posters

Featured Replies

To move on from the hate we have for other Demons developed over the last two decades; from Ridley to Gutnick to Mann to Schwab to Szondy to Gardner to The Next Scapegoat ©.

It saddens me to think that Ian Ridley could be hated by Demons fans. The proposed merger was not what Ian wanted, though as President he supported what the majority of the board voted in favour of.Apart from a long time friend (who sadly passed away 4 years ago)I think of Ian as an incredibly gifted footballer who in 130 games with the demons played in six grand finals, winning five of them. He then retired after severely damaging his knee.I think of the time he spent on the committee, not only as president, and the time that he was the senior coach. He was also a selector of the Victorian team and served on the tribunal. I think that the positives of Tiger far outweigh the negatives and that our club has benefited greatly from his contributions.

To only have realistic expectations for the team next year; 9th or better will be good enough.

To never forget Jim

I won't tell people that the flag is ours easily this year. Expectations will be lowered to a 2 pt prelim loss due to a shady umpiring decision.

I'm just not ever going to mention Jack Watts name in a sentence outside of this forum (always positive) as its just not worth the arguing.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
