IMO the players saw Roos as the school principal and they knew they had rules and boundaries and stayed within those lines while learning from an astute teacher. Goody is the student teacher that isnt too much older than the veterans and while still learning from his mentor, knows that none of these kids listen to the Beegees anymore so adding a 2015/16/17 edge into the program while maintaining  his position of authority the players still know the line between mate and boss they would feel more comfortable being themselves around Goody than Roos. Roos ruled with respect, Goody will rule with understanding with a touch of 2017 flair 

Looking back at the Prendergast drafts and then Neeld years is a nightmare. 

They set us back 5 years.
