MCC elects new president

I noticed today that the MCC has elected a new President.

I don't know much about the politics involved with the MCC however was of the belief that the last President/board was supportive of the MFC which helped us with the changes the Stynes administration have taken recently (realignment with MCC, new stadium deal etc).

Does anyone know how, if at all, the change in MCC President may effect the MFC?

I do not think things will change at all. Although Sheahan is/was a Geelong supporter he will now (I hope) get behind the MFC because it is a sporting section of the MCC.

Most of the MCC committee are card carrying supporters of the MFC. And one of them, namely Steve Smith played over 200 games in the red and blue!
