Where are you Andy D?

A couple of years back, when you had your sights trained on the MFC and we were down on the floor and getting thumped on a weekly basis, you stuck the boots into us. Said we stood for nothing and threatened to take away our annual Queens Birthday blockbuster if we couldn't attract a crowd of more than 60,000.

Now, the Bummers managed less than 60k attendance last night and they copped a hiding from Collingw&%$.

What are you going to say and do about that? Give them some more prime Friday night fixtures?

Or are you too busy changing the rules and spending hundreds of millions on GCSuns and GWS to bother any more?

"Andy D" seriously questioned the clubs brand. But it was statements portrayed such as that as well as Kennett s that gave this club the kick up the backside it needed.

"Andy D" seriously questioned the clubs brand. But it was statements portrayed such as that as well as Kennett s that gave this club the kick up the backside it needed.

The reality was that at the time, we didn't stand for anything, and we probably did deserve to have the big-blockbusters taken away from us. :I remember going to several games with 10-18,000 at the stadium.

It was the hard truth, and luckily for us, the board took it the right way and turned things around.

Now the club has been completely re-branded, supporters are passionate again, we are getting good crowds and playing exciting footy.

Alot can change in 2-3 years

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
