The best football we've played in years

Featured Replies

i reckon ppl are being a bit harsh on maric give the kid ago, id like to see the same team picked for the brisbane game, yes moloney jmac and trengove are better players then say maric wonna and bail but i think the players involved with the win against the swans should be rewarded by keeping there spots.

Might make players work harder knowing there not a walk up starter!!

Love knowing we have petterd grimes trengove moloney jmac bate warnock gysbetts tapscott jetta are waiting to come back!

Oh and the one bloke ive been AMAZED by is the junk yard dog clint bartram, my god has he improved i deadset thought this bloke was a spud but hes year has been awesome, when he tackles he hurts blokes its bloody awesome well done champ!!

Petterd, Tapscott, Bate.

We got depth boy.....

Add in McDonald, Moloney, Grimes, Warnock. Based on the Casey reports Jack Fitzpatrick was good against Fraser & Wood, two seasoned ruckmen. This is a bloody good sign.

Add in Gysberts, Blease, Strauss. Could go on & on.

Still thinking about yesterdays game, today. Media talking finals?! Premierships. Going to be some ups & downs still, but the ride is just starting it's ascent, which is the best part!

Go Dees!!

Maric was the worst for a while before Watts overtook him.

Morton was destroyed by Goodes, don't let his numbers fool you.

Well you and others might be able to comment on the fact that during the 2nd quarter Goodes loked as` though he was picking up Sylvia in the centre bounces. Not totally surprising considering Sylvia's dominance.Without question, on a few occasions Morton was not in the centre with Goodes. Then, in the 3rd and 4th quarters it reverted to the way it started with Morton running with Goodes all the time. Morton was beaten by him--not thrashed at all and made many important plays.

As to Maric it breaks my heart to see him kick. I recall many on this site raving about his kicking, and I think Emma Quayle described him as the best kick in the draft--or something similar. Again on Sunday whilst I thought he showed a bit, his kicking, especially for goal, was disappointing. Not as disappointing, of course, as poor Jetta [swans] with his nil/16 record

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
