ive got two...id be talking to HEr first !! who else..is almost irrelevent..its the WHY

True i should have added that i would do that first then what i said would be next.

Well arn't we all on our high moral ground. Pffft. And the Legal resons are getting quite tired and basically a useless arguement.

Maybe tiresome for you gOLLy, but it comes with good reason.

I don't understand why everyone is warning of not releasing the names for legal reasons... Victoria Police have stated that nothing unlawful was done and there is no injunction barring the release of names, so what is the issue? All that has happened is that St Kilda have said they are not releasing names. I don't see any legal reason why I shouldn't release the names here.

If there wasn't any good legal reason, don't you think the likes of The Age and The Hun would have released them by now ?

Well they would have originally held back because there was potential for Police charges, but now that that has been ruled out. I don't see any legal issues. May be moral issues, but nothing more. No law against disclosing the truth about someone's private life.

Quote from R.Lyon from the above link: -

“I can confirm two players have spoken to the club and the AFL in regards to the incident.

“We’re not into naming players … once it’s concluded, we will make a statement.”

I have already seen that article, but Im not sure what you were trying to answer/prove by posting it. Still doesn't give any legal reason why they can't be named here. All your quote shows is that St Kilda isn't "into" naming players, not that there is legal reasons preventing them from doing so.

Have they plastered their names all over TV/ Radio media ?

I give up, you don't seem to be understanding me. The fact that the media isn't releasing the names (yet) does not mean it is illegal to do so.

No, I understand you perfectly.

Why do you think they haven't released the names yet, Stylus ?

Who knows. Moral obligation? Could be a number of reasons. I don't work in the media. But that is beside the point. You can't equate non disclose with a legal reason not to disclose.

I could not agree more stylus.

Don't bother explaining or arguing with HT Stylus. He is always right and will continue arguing his point.

I hear what you are saying

Maybe Stylus I acknowledge that, however, there have been numerous cases where site owners have been sub-poened to provide information about persons posting defamatory information. The players may have been cleared, yes, but seeing as they have not been named in the public domain, we're of the opinion they should not be named here. Off field misdemeanors of such speculative nature arguably lower the value of this site.

If you have any further issue regarding this, feel free to PM me or if you so desire, take it up with another Moderator.

Imagine being her dad.

I have 3 daughters and i know i would be straight down to the stkilda football club to ask what in the hell is going on down here where i am at work while my daughter is at school supposedly in a safe envirement.

Now there's more, that club are going to self destruct before they get any silverware.

Just no class down there.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
