Casey Scorpions v Northern Bullants

Thanks for all the reports of Casey's game. I suppose we should expect an emphasis on the 10 Demons who took part but for a different perspective, here's how the local Cranbourne Journal looked at the game - Scorps show stinging form B)

For some reason I was under the impression that the practice match against the Bendigo Bombers was in Bendigo at the QEO. Has it been changed or have I been off with the pixies again?

Spot on Jacey, you can't blame a kid for trying to get the best contract for himself, especially when the writing was on the wall regarding the realities of a long career are coming to an end.

In reality its likely to be a short career but I have no qualms over his decision. I could not believe all the bleating over his departure. An ordinary NQR leaves MFC to become an ordinary NQR at another club and the sky is falling.

You're with the pixies.

The game's at Casey Fields and will be followed by the club's jumper presentation.

Thanks KC. I'm pretty sure I saw it listed at the QEO on the Bombers website (Or maybe I'm in denial?). I just hope the QEO holds up to see Casey play there in May.

I'm sure he was offered an incentive based contract, but was certainly better off with Carlton's guaranteed 2 year contract. I found it a little frustrating on another level though, seeing other teams Father/Son selections do so well, and our only selection jumps ship. Oh well, bring on Jack Viney.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
