THE COACH AND THE DISCIPLE

Featured Replies

Windy conditions, top of 18 degrees.... Probably some light showers....

First bounce seconds away

Trengove starting in the middle.... Number 40 for anyone watching.... Was named on the bench....

Glenelg dominating the first 7 minutes of the match.... Raining now.... Trengove clears with a nice right foot kick out of defence.... Certainly has a penetrating kick

Jace Bode (Sturt) has not improved his skills over the years.... haha... shanked a kick in the centre and Glenelg rebound and kick their 2nd goal.... 14-0 so far 12 mins 1st qtr.... Trengove has been in the action a couple of times, a nice in and under handball.... Rain will be a massive factor... Will be interesting to see how he goes in the wet conditions.... Very physical start to the match

Trengove kicks the ball for Sturts first inside 50..... Under pressure but managed to get his kick away.....

Trengove having a spell on the bench, a lot of rotations, seriously windy out there and the rain is making it tough condidtions....

Trengove back on 22 min mark.... Straight back in with a clearing handball from a stoppage

Trengove with another clearing handball from a throw in..... Playing on the wing and seems to be everywhere....

Qtr time.... Glenelg 15 to Sturt 0

Sturt trying way to hard to be physical and not concentrating on the pill..... Luke Norman will most likely blast them at the break....

Commentators have made a point of saying how "ferocious" Trengove is when he goes into a contest.... prepared to run straight through some way bigger bodies...

Inside 50's 16 - 3 in favour of Glenelg....

Trengove has started quite well, gets in and under in the contest and has good awareness.... but also is very aware of where his direct opponent is at all times....

Trengove with another clearing handball from a throw in..... Playing on the wing and seems to be everywhere....

Glenelg 2.3.15 to Sturt 0.0.0 at the first break but the Bays had at least a three goal wind advantage. Jack looks the goods.

Trengove with another clearing handball from a throw in..... Playing on the wing and seems to be everywhere....

Trengove playing on the wing- 1 kick,4 handballs & a couple of clearances so far. Some strong clearance work & quick hands in traffic

Thanks for the updates, KrazyJay, really appreciate it ;)

No worries.....

Was supposed to be at the game, but the missus got called into work so I have to stay home and look after my little demon.... Watching live on the TV and will try to give as many JT related updates as I can...

Sturt kick the first goal in the 2nd qtr.... Trengove with a superb chest pass to the leading forward.... This kid is a gun I tell you.... I have said it all year!

Please pick him up Dees

Trengove gives away a free kick, bit of an over-zelous tackle... got a bit of agro about him :)

Trengove delivers from the backline to the wing.... short pass finds teammate....

Trengove another clearing ball from defence... Finds a target again....

Very scrappy game so far.... Sturt slowly getting back into the game, but need to be more direct....

Sturt skipper Sheedy kicks a goal from directly in front after a strong grab.....

Trengove takes a strong contested grab, and gets a 25 mtr penalty.... short kick to a teammate..... Goal to the captain again.... Trengoves direct opponent Ruwolt is getting frustrated....

A friend who barracks for Richmond keeps telling me that Dustin Martin is a better player than Trengove. He won't convince our recruiting people of that I'm sure!

My son is getting a bit whingy.... I think it is bottle time.... Bit hard to use the laptop at the same time.... Will be back shortly.... Will still be watching, so will update when I am finished.... Glenelg leading by a point at the 14 min mark of the 2nd qtr....

Trengove is just so impressive.... Always seems to be around the ball and his defensive work is as good as his offensive work.... I will be pretty dissapointed if we pass up on him.... Has leadership written all over him....

I have to say Trengrove is very impressive! Playing against men in a final and holding his own at such a young age. Skills are very sharp!

Comontators described his as an Aston Martin.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
