"High Performance"

Featured Replies

When Brad Scott was appointed head coach of North Melbourne, he spruiked implementing "high performance" at North Melbourne. He doesn't care much for "battler", "shin boner spirit" - he wants to turn the club into a high performance club in every aspect on the back of their $15 million development on the back of his sports science background. And his experience at the Lions and at the Lexus Centre.

Where do we at Melbourne stand in this regard?

Does part of our 'blue print' for the Football department include 'High Performance' strategic coaching/fitness?

Or are we already doing it?

What are some of the advantages 'superior clubs' have over us in terms of applications for the players to benefit from?

(ie. I'm sure we don't need 22 hyperbaric chambers, but what do we need?)

How far are we behind? How much will it take to catch up to the pace setters within the AFL?

If anyone knows (I'd be interested to know), what does our club need (1) specifically and (2) how much money does the club need to achieve this?

Things like those 'Body-Flow' devices make a big difference.

I know they have an army of them down at Geelong.

I think Brad Scott is cast from a similar mould to Bailey, but Bailey is a bit older & wiser, and more reserved.

High-performance is the norm these days.
