I'll see if I can find it somewhere. From going to a few gambler's anonymous meetings, I soon realised that I got out of it all pretty lightly. I didn't lose a wife, or children, or house, or car like many others I met. Then again, I didn't have those things to lose back then. And somehow through it all, I kept my job. So I consider myself lucky really.

It is certainly a massive problem and one that I think many people go through silently without other's really being able to see the side effects. How many mate's do we all have who go on about their gambling and you only ever hear about the wins (about 80% of those who go to the races - $200 up on $400 worth of betting).

I did it in silence. I did it all very quietly. Even when I won I didn't tell people. Maybe once in a while I would tell people I had win but I would always diminished the amount that I bet so it appeared to just ba a sociable bet. I wouldn't dare tell anybody I bet a few grand on a game even if I had won.
