Major Sponsor - How as supporters/ members can we add value?

I think you are wrong here, I remember last year doing a survey that asked all those questions. In fact I have done this for the last two years.

Surveying normally gauges what you "think" ... with a very heavy emphasis on the "" ... rarely do they get you to take serious differential action.

I can ask thousands of people what they think ... But can I get thousands of people to take action!

Thanks for keeping this thread alive. I also remember receiving a survey late last year which had all up 69 questions on it (both quant and qual responses). This to me is madness, but that is for another thread. The question is what iniatives or strategies have been built ffrom this capture of member data.

To me it appears nothing.

I agree with Hangon007...the future of this football club lies with its ability to engage it member base on a wave of momentum. This is usually done via on-field success, but for a football club that has a long decade ahead this type of assumption needs to be scratched. So that is the challenge for the MFC.

Second question...you think anyone from the MFC reads or monitors sites like this and Demonology?

Why survey your members ... why not survey your supporters on why that are not members. Its like preaching to the converted ... you get a biased set of answers that lead to the wrong assumptions. You may as well survey the same person 1000 times. Surveys are great to do when you want to be seen to be doing something.

We need to engage our members & supporters to take action. If this is not done prior to us having "success" we will fail to fully capitalise on that "success" ... hence we will be talking and dealing with the same issues when the next "down-turn" comes.

IMHO ... Its my job to share our history with the "kids". However, I must let those very same kids shape our future.

Now to the question ... you think anyone from the MFC reads or monitors sites like this and Demonology? I couldn't give a rats toss. However, unlike many "AFL measurements or comparisons" I can tell you 1 that we are not 16th in ... INTERNET ACTIVITY

Internet activity based on what source?

I'm not sure you follow my logic. Why waste marketing $ on trying to increase membership base on so called supporters (who identify themselves via a survey) when we can actively engage current members and utilise their skill set to produce positive outcomes for football club. The days of relying on membership $ has past AFL football. The better clubs are find innovative ways to maximise alternate revenue streams.

Like Collingwood with their pubs and their other venues...

Whilst I agree to a certain point, winning games of footbal, increasing memberships and crowd numbers is still the most important way of sustainability for any football club.

I agree with What Mark Fine Said on SEN a few weeks back. I f we cannot get a major sponsor we should use our name, & do some deals with the State Govt. or The Melbourne City Council. They Both Spend money on Marketing & Ads. Let us carry some of that on our backs. We are The Capitol of Victoria so lets get out there.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
