I think that's it though Dees, if there was no inkling of Carlton involvement, there would be a lot less made of this.

I can see how some fans can be upset, as I am that he has opted away from our club in favour of a club that would not even offer us a sub-100 pick, however I think the majority of this thread has been instigated as much by his departure as it has been by more Carlton involvement in young players, now even players that aren't really on the market yet

He averaged about 6 games a year for 5 years . No great loss . We are better off without him and we get an extra draft pick , which might turn up a much better player any way .

If Carlton think he will win games for them they are in for a rude shock .

Shame he has gone in my book as he had started to turn the corner last year.

But that being the case I have an extra special boo saved up for the little S#$& if he's playing agianst us next year. In fact I think he has taken the new #1 from scott thompson on my list.

DON'T WALK OUT ON US AND EXPECT NO RETRIBUTION!

If you were unhappy then put your hand up to be traded, don't deal with cheats like the CFC. I hope so much now more then ever carlton is fined out of existance when they are done for new salary cap breaches. Infact send them to west sydney!

GEEZ I HATE CARLT$T

The thing where they got him to tell the players...

It would have been better if they'd got all the players to tell him that they were staying.

Yeah...one by one, in a line-up.

  • PREVIEW: North Melbourne

Can you believe it? After a long period of years over which Melbourne has dominated in matches against North Melbourne, the Demons are looking down the barrel at two defeats at the hands of the Kangaroos in the same season. And if that eventuates, it will come hot on the heels of an identical result against the Gold Coast Suns. How have the might fallen? There is a slight difference in that North Melbourne are not yet in the same place as Gold Coast. Like Melbourne, they are currently situated in the lower half of the ladder and though they did achieve a significant upset when the teams met earlier in the season, their subsequent form has been equally unimpressive and inconsistent.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.
