Pitiful Melbourne Demons are way behind AFL

Do they have faith in the game plan in the first place? Even if perfectly executed is it the best way for this team to play?

Faith? I'd have to say not

Based on their execution I'd say not, at best they are wrestling with an invisible monster

Even if perfectly executed is it the best way for this team to play? Excellent question and one I have absolutely no answer for

well he has a short memory like most in the media, true we were absolute CRAPon the last two games but the week before that we beat wet toast, we had 3 rising stars and the backline is really taking shape, Morton will be a star but like all, he judges us by that last game.

Exactly. Mike writes what's in fashion. I remember Mike after the first two weeks of being flogged, he raised questions about not keeping a couple of seasoned players like Ward, Brown, Bizell, Pickett etc etc to help the youngsters and not look so shzien. puke.

Fast forward 10 weeks or so and we beat the Lions, its all about how Melbourne were going in the right direction and how the youth had brought on some excitement and enthusiasm to the club and the backline looks to have some future.

Guess I personally can't complain. Writers got to write.

Well, if you're trying to argue that we weren't crap this year, I'm not sure how much either 1938 or Collingwood has to do with that.

Finishing last which every year happens to one team is obviously a result of a poor year

Having a first year coach who is looking at youth also should be taken into account in the overall result

Would have thought both Port and West Coast,s finishing positions this year compared to their previous years would have been the talking point

compared to the rebuilding of the Demons pertaining to the worst performing sides of the 2008 season

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
