Dizzy did score a test double-ton but Idk if he never scored another century after that.

wow, so it was him.

Give us a clue for the second? Please, Macca? Pretty please 🙏

That was his only 3 figure score

He scored the 200 against Bangladesh and it was on foxtel live from Bangladesh ... I distinctly remember watching the innings

From memory he batted very correctly and it wasn't a swashbuckling innings at all

And again, no clues on the other Australian!

Is that the match where he came in as nightwatchman? I think I remember it.

It's like that TV show 8 out of 10 cats ... everyone gets points and bonus points but they don't count for anything

Another interesting fact surrounding Gillespie's 200 is that it was the last test he ever played

Bit like Fred Fanning scoring 18 goals in his last ever game of VFL football

Well who is it then, Civ?

I don’t know if he made any further centuries but I know that one of my all-time favourite players made 200 in a Test vs Sth Africa played here in Aus. I can’t remember what year. Early 2000’s(?)  I remember it because Aussie fans were spewing that Ponting held off declaring just so as BRAD HODGE could reach 200. The match was drawn but could’ve been won by Aus had the declaration been made earlier.

A great Victorian batsman! Brad Hodge.

Is this the answer? It’s gotta be him.

I believe it was Hodge from memory? 2005 maybe?

I got in first, ask @Macca!!! He’ll tell you. 😁

Hodge was pretty hard done by imo. Underrated and not respected enough. But then again, he’s a Victorian. So, what’re gonna do? 🤷‍♀️

He barely broke a sweat. Made short work of it. Bring on the semi!!!

Yes well done to Slartibart, Civ & Lex

Gillespie & Hodge was the correct answer.  Not sure how many Tests Hodgey played after his double hundred but he only played 6 Tests in total

Averaged 55 as well

Agreed. Was an amazing team, so lucky to have grown up watching that golden era. Even such a great player in Hodge couldn't break into the team regularly unfortunately.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
