  1. Thought Jay should get his own thread. 177cm, 75kg, and will be 23 years old for the start of the 2019 season. Runner up in Casey's B&F and very highly rated by Rawlings. Jay has good speed and uses the ball well. Despite his size, he's shown an ability to win his own ball, playing in multiple roles. Started the year at half back, but then moved to a wing and on ball. Spent short stints forward also, kicking 10 goals for the year. Hoping we can get the rights to Jay through trading with Gold Coast in relation to the May/KK deal. He fits our needs and would be especially good to get a mature body in given the likely departures of Tyson & Vandenberg.
  2. Wrote this in the 'Who do we realistically target' thread, but thought I'd give him his on thread. With our need for an outside runner with good ball use, how about Sam Mayes from Brisbane? Was mentioned on The Wash Up as being out of favor. Was a highly rated junior (Viney's year), so maybe a change of locations would help plus playing in a better team? Given we don't have much to trade with this year, maybe we could get him for a future 3rd rounder? http://www.lions.com.au/player-profile/sam-mayes Cal Twomeys write up on him in his draft year: http://www.afc.com.au/news/2012-11-20/aflcomaus-phantom-draft
  3. So appears Collingwood are front runners for Aish & Treloar acording to this article. http://www.news.com.au/sport/breaking-news/collingwood-is-hopeful-of-securing-adam-treloar-and-james-aish-during-afl-trade-period/story-fnect155-1227479263831 And I note that Paul Seedsman's name was thrown up, however Brisbane wouldn't accept him in a straight swap for Aish. Maybe Melbourne can get involved here? Maybe Collingwood can throw Seedsman to us with Howe then going to Brisbane. Maybe a swap of Collingwood's 2nd round pick for our 3rd also? I rate Seedsman, played really well v us on Queen's Birthday last year. 23 years old, 190cm, 87kg, nearly 50 games experience averaging 16-17 possesions a game. Outside wing/half back with pace and a long penetrating kick. Exactly what we need. http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/player-profile/paul-seedsman We may not be able to land the likes of Dangerfield, Treloar, Prestia this year. But players like Seedsman could be the exact type that could help take us forward. The likes Paul Seedsman, Andrew Moore & Daniel Gorringe could be more valuable then people think.
