  2. With the tragic events of yesterdays results now well and truly sunk in and many questioning their faith I thought some reflection and confessions might be in order. I get on demonland to connect with fellow sufferers/supporters because quite frankly I don't have too many demon supporting friends. Thats just how it is. grew up that way, went to school that way and its still that way. But you know what, this team got in my blood, got in my soul and became a part of me I can't let go. So I don't care where we are. Im a demon through and through and I believe you guys and girls are too. In the hope that we can all get to know each other a little better and perhaps even get along better I suggest the following for anyone who is game. What I would like to know is the following. 1. How did you start following the Demons? 2. Who was your very first favourite player and why? 3. Best moment as a fan? 4. Worst moment as a fan? 5. Anything else you would like to share? Okay lets see what you got.
  3. I watched the GWS with my brother, a north supporter, last week. At one point we saw a Melbourne player in the back line kick the ball directly to Hoskin-Elliot, who just turned around and kicked an easy goal. He said "right there is your biggest problem." I said "what, turnovers?" He said "no, your supporters' REACTION to turnovers and lack of understanding of how bad you are." He then rewound the footage and paused just after the footy went through the sticks. There were a few MFC supports sitting there applauding. He went on to say that any supporter can and probably should applaud an opposition goal when it shows guts or skill etc. However when it's an easy goal as a result of a direct turnover, fans shouldn't be sitting there saying "well done". They should be outraged. They should be baying for blood. There was no skill in what Hoskin-Elliot did. That was an own goal. The implication was that the lack of passion from fans, combined with misunderstandings and tolerance of our glaring flaws means that we don't hold the players accountable. I thought the fans at the end of that game telling the players exactly what we thought of him undermined this point, but that image of those MFC people applauding that goal has stuck with me. Maybe there's some truth to what he's saying and I don't want to admit it. Are we just weak supporters?
  4. Who's made it to all 4 games so far. This thread isn't about bagging people who haven't, we've all got reasons we can't attend every game. But for those who have well done. We deserved the last quarter. Who sat through the debacle that was Port and followed it up with the shambles that was the Essendon game. The Essendon game I had neutral supporters wearing Richmond jumpers hanging it on all our players. The West Coast game I had a lady getting excited down stairs every time Le Cras touched the ball, it killed me. Even this game seeing neutral supporters and smart ass teenage brats in their brand new first time worn GWS jumpers was killing me. We have to stay strong. The pain will continue for most of this year but for 30 minutes yesterday and the time that followed we were free!
